@dunv8 You can easily compare. A Eurofighter is obsolete tech with no stealth designed to put bombs on target and do some half ass air superiority at cost. The F-22 is a pure predator in the air with a secondary ground role. Controlling the skies is much more important than just putting bombs on target. Conclusion. The F-22 was designed to win the next war, the Eurofighter was designed to create jobs in the present.

@Warpath2198 Allot will depend on if India buys EF. Grippen is the cheaper alternative. Grippen is just as capable electronically but doesn't have the same intercept capabilities (supercruise/supersonic agility/high altitide performance etc). Dunno about the cost tho. The India MMRCA has showed that EF is around 60 million UK GDP per unit.
India can afford EF so they'll probably go with that altho the rafale fits their needs better imo as it has better air to ground capabilities

@Gunzzzzup Japan has only ever brought US fighters because of politics. The US just applies pressure on them. As for the F-22...it can't do anything I'm afraid. It can't even fly above 25,000 feet. It's been barred from doing so since January this year due to oxegen issues. EF could just supercruise at 50,000 feet to avoid it as high altitude is where you get the most energy on your jet as well as missiles.

However, after tests they found that it is unnecessary and useless in a real fight (speed range Mach 0.7-0.8), and for modern fighter is the best canard airframe configuration. Surprised ?

Delta wings are cheap to produce but suck balls in a turning fight. The canards are a stop gap measure that just increase maintenance hours and hurt super sonic performance. This is why I laugh when people use the term "super cruise" with the Eurofighter. Canards and weapons under the wings? I think not.

EF HAS Supercruise (Mach 1.7 to some sources, others say 1.2), the Thrust Vectoring is in developement but not ready.
It is extremely agile in Sub- and Supersonic speed.

@Warpath2198 What's the problem that Typhoon defeated in dog fight F-22?Raptor is almost two times more heavy and less agile than Typhoon. Typhoon can detect each stealt from 10 nMs distance using radar, or from circa 40 nMs ( i guess) using the PIRATE thermal imaging system. Raptor can attack BVR russian flying crappy planes piloted by always drunk, poorly trained russian guys. The close dog fight versus european beast like a Typhoon is something completely different.

British Typhoons have their own 'platform inter-operability' trials with the USAF (for which the Typhoons are usually based out of NAS China Lake) and it happened on one of those. The USAF maintained that it sort of didn't count because F-22s are never fully 'stealthed', for security reasons, when on the range with other aircraft. (Which would make it rather difficult to assess their capabilities fully, wouldn't it? Hmm.)

Remember in 2008 Pakis locked down Indian Aircrafts when they were sent to attack us.

@Gunzzzzup Japan has only ever brought US fighters because of politics. The US just applies pressure on them. As for the F-22...it can't do anything I'm afraid. It can't even fly above 25,000 feet. It's been barred from doing so since January this year due to oxegen issues. EF could just supercruise at 50,000 feet to avoid it as high altitude is where you get the most energy on your jet as well as missiles.
F-22 will never see warfare. It's for the air shows and fanboys.

Small muli-role fighter that was designed to create jobs not win wars. Delta wing is a bad design, another cost cutting measure for the EU. Canards are a crutch for the bad wing design and also hurts super sonic speeds. It carries weapons on the outside of the wings which shatters its super cruise and stealth claims. However, after tests they found that it is unnecessary and useless in a real fight (speed range Mach 0.7-0.8), and for modern fighter is the best canard airframe configuration. Surprised ?

@Gottmituns1610 Canards are shit. They are not good for super sonic aircraft. The canards are used on Euro aircraft because the Euro's try to fight on the cheap. Delta wings are cheap to produce but suck balls in a turning fight. The canards are a stop gap measure that just increase maintenance hours and hurt super sonic performance. This is why I laugh when people use the term "super cruise" with the Eurofighter. Canards and weapons under the wings? I think not.

@Warpath2198 Canard airframe configuration is best for dog fight. That's why european fighters are canard-style. Rafale,Gripen and Typhoon. The only one adventage of F-22 is stealth in BVR fight. But two Typhoons using linked radars via data-link are able to detect and destroy the Raptor. F-22 was beaten by Typhoon in 2008. EF HAS Supercruise (Mach 1.7 to some sources, others say 1.2), the Thrust Vectoring is in developement but not ready.
It is extremely agile in Sub- and Supersonic speed.
Yeah the Jets like F-22 would be superior in 1v1 situation, but since you need a big main Airforce to take advantage of a pure superiority fighter it is only usefull for nations like the US.

@Warpath2198 What's the problem that Typhoon defeated in dog fight F-22?Raptor is almost two times more heavy and less agile than Typhoon. Typhoon can detect each stealt from 10 nMs distance using radar, or from circa 40 nMs ( i guess) using the PIRATE thermal imaging system. Raptor can attack BVR russian flying crappy planes piloted by always drunk, poorly trained russian guys. The close dog fight versus european beast like a Typhoon is something completely different.

British Typhoons have their own 'platform inter-operability' trials with the USAF (for which the Typhoons are usually based out of NAS China Lake) and it happened on one of those. The USAF maintained that it sort of didn't count because F-22s are never fully 'stealthed', for security reasons, when on the range with other aircraft. (Which would make it rather difficult to assess their capabilities fully, wouldn't it? Hmm.)

The bad delta wing design is not good for a turning fight, hence the ridiculous canards up front which hurt super sonic flight. The delta wing is a bad design, but used to make the aircraft cheap. Its entertaining that Euros think that canards are some kind of advancement. Delta wings suck in low speed and in a turning fight but are good for high speeds and are cheap to build. Carnards bring their own problems.

F-15 SE is better than cost cutting delta wing aircraft lol. Strakes dont require lots of maint and dont cause problems at high speeds.
