  • mr. bourdain , come to bicol region. The eastern part of the philippines.

  • The Guide did a very good job. He made me feel proud. There is no more need for a plee for Anthony Bourdain to come back. What he experienced that night was enough to make him yearn for more! If he does come back he'll bring friends from TOP CHEF :)

BTW there are 7000 more islands to explore! It is never about who is a better region, there is a strength in our diversity! We just have forgotten this and we have always had an inferiority complex to other nations.

  • I'm a Tagalog but I think the Kapampangans represented the country well in terms of food. Tony seemed impressed with the wide array of dishes served to him. He even said "there's a flavor spectrum going on here that is different than anywhere else I've been". And that means, the world people. Wow. That's Filipino taste for you.

  • I'm not from Pampanga. But I clearly understand his statement here. It's not about showing off but it's about taking pride in the region you're from. And he is proud about being from Pampanga and their food. Same like the French take pride in their cuisine and say so that theirs is the best in the world. What are you losers proud about? Having huge mouths full of crap? Shut the f*** up!!!

  • noong first time kung napanood ko to sa travel channel napansin ko rin yun "KAPAMPANGAN FIRST" attitude na sinabi nung mama, that goes to show you na napaka regionalistic natin, parang mga ilokano sa Hawaii , kung minsan nagtataka ako saan kaya nati namana ito

  • Taga Tarlac ako at my lahing Pampango, i recognize the rich culinary culture of other regions that are far better than pampango cooking. The lechon, tula, kilaw of cebu.

  • Be a Filipino first before being a Pampango. How could you be a Pampango if you're not a Filipino.

  • The South Luzon area, which consists of Southern Tagalog (Laguna & Batangas), Quezon Province and Bicol Region- one of the top producers of coconut, coffee, fruits and seafoods and famous for their coconut recipes, purest wines and vinegar, and candy products that are really "muy delicioso". Some ingredients that the Pampangos use in their cooking are mostly imported from these areas. Each Region has it's own share of rich culinary culture based on their local produce.

  • Pampanga was named "culinary capital" during the early times but there are so many Regions here, where, culinary culture are richer, particularly the outskirts of North Luzon- the Ilocos Region which consists of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur,/Norte, the "mountainous" (it really meant mountainous!) Ifugao Region, Isabela and Cagayan Valley. These Regions are Philippines' top vegetable & tobacco producer. Famous for their fish sauce and shrimp paste that we sometimes call "The local caviar"

  • if in siquijor we know it as a magical and scarry part of the island and ilonggos are malambing, cebuanos are gifted singers now we can conclude that kapangpangan are m.....g!!! whatever that is i guess!

  • Pampanga pride?! give us something regional and we can make it better?! You can't be a pilipino unless you become a pampanga first?! What Anthony did say about this? From mangyan of Mindoro

  • yeah he did say " whatever region you are from " even anthony said he's a New Yorker first then American....does that mean he's selfish? what he was trying to point out was, you cannot be a Filipino unless you become yourself first...whatever region you're from. him being a cabalen, he was setting himself as an example. but i dont agree when he said "they can make something regional better" authentic taste is still the best....
