I wonder if there was any way that 'American top 40' could've edited this medley, when it started off with the intro. They hit #1 in Billboard, 6-20-81. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
This song reminds me of doing discos with my daddy :) Happy times.. they played it on the radio this morning and it got cranked up, and i did stupid dances to it, and the people in the cars around me just looked and laughed, cos i knew it all off by heart and remembered every single link to every song, hahaha.. Amazing ♥♥
The Beatles medley/remix wouldn't be half bad if it wasn't for that incessant "clap". After a couple minutes its so annoying and distracting that it practically drowns out the awesomeness that is the Beatles.
@dershed Infact I think this record shows how awesome the Beatles were. A #1 hit 11 years after they disbanded, even when some were trying to argue music had "moved on". Music never moved on from The Beatles, because no one since has been able to create such a versitle, timeless backcatalog.
@ninelivecat I wondered the same thing when I first heard it 30 years ago. Not only "Sugar, Sugar" but the intro guitar riff from Shocking Blue's "Venus". These 2 tunes are missing, however, from the CD version I own.
10 years ago I bought a cd of the best of Stars On 45, & it has a long version of this song, but the guitar riff from Shocking Blue's "Venus" & The Archies' "Sugar, Sugar" are missing, though they were on the original single. The liner notes said there was a copyright problem, so they were omitted.
the beatles says we need to work it out.

GAAH! I wish current radio stations and DJs played this type of medleys instead of all this new auto-tuned crap.
Long live The Beatles!

Haven't heard this in ages since 1982. This used to be on the radio very frequently.

I wonder how John Lennon would've reacted to this, for it came out only a few months after his murde.

The person who made this mix should be physically maimed in the manner of Foucault's description of Peine Forte et Dure.
