It turned out that the storyline was they were being tricked by Roxxi and Taylor the ones who hired the Palin impersonator, in order to embarass them by showing that they didn't even know who won the election, in addition to not knowing that she wasn't the real Sarah Palin. It was a really funny payoff at the end of that storyline :) .

when WWE took over WCW she got fired and walked in the indies

then in 2004 she retired

mid 2005 she got hired by WWE in its development but quickly fired then she continued in the indies again till about 07-08 where she started to walk for shimmer * make specialy appereances
