this is definitely art. to express particular emotions that nobody' s able to express. Fleeting but important little truths that we grasp in the momentum, rare pieces of soul between dismay and bliss. Pino is an artist. Without haughtiness he plays very technically complex music, filling each song with original beauty, with uncomparing taste. He does not fear to face his emotions, perfect medleys of woe and joy, and show them through his guitar.
I can't help but feel and overwhelming sense of peace when listen to this. It has the ability to allow you to believe that in some way everything is going to be ALRIGHT!! Thank you Pino!
@blabcat I GOT THAT TOOO!!! did you hear his fase 1 song? it brought the water world of hyrule to mind...where he can buy the water outfit and everything...its been a while but it totally reminded me of it too...best game ever haha..and this guy is good ^^
Got to see him live. He will be playing solo and with his group, Guitar Republic, at the Canadian Guitar Festival in July 2011. Go to Candyrat Records.
The music of Pino goes in to the realm of minimalism at times. He manages to create these incredible timings and patterns of sound that seem to make use of silence as much as the sound from the guitar itself.
First time I'm reading people saying there are negative comments about this man. Good thing Youtube has many page lists, that way I won't see those comments on the first page.
....passeggiata al tramonto in inverno...qualche parte lungo un canale della laguna veneta.... nebbia... freddo... anima melancolica... grandioso... grazie!
If you click the "tabs" link, it is there. Also, ain't it the best thing in the world when you hear a piece of music that is EXACTLY what you feel you need to hear? My hat goes off to this guy for being brilliant and channeling his soul directly into his music. Something most people are afraid of doing.
looks like a monk from 3rd century b.c. got dug up in what used to be Gaul thawed out and went for the first guitar he could find so he could play for us.
It's amazing to watch to slow, deliberate playing of such a master as Pino. He seems to move almost in slow motion, never needlessly rushing to the next note or chord. The tortoise beats the hare again!
I see in many videos that someone say about the ones who dislike the video "you need new acoustic devises, / u have problems with your standards etc". Although i really like this song, i see unwise to judge someone who simply dislike this song, no matter how unlikely this seems to the majority of us.
Just goes to show you that you don't need to play blistering runs or have inhuman technique to keep things interesting. This is expression of the highest order, my hats off to you sir...
@BiorythmicDrifter Ummm, with all due respect, this guy's technique IS inhuman. The precision with which the fingers on his right hand move is utterly unfathomably difficult to replicate, and it takes decades of practice and playing in order to play like that naturally. Simply watching the movements of his fingers is a show enough, being able to hear the music they're creating is another world entirely.
If you've played the game Flower, then you know that Pino's compositions need to be the soundtrack for that entire game. You are a musical genius my friend. Not one second of any of your videos have I lost the slightest bit of interest. I've never been so inspired. Thank you.
Congratulations on creating a tune so beautiful. I really did cry. Turned my speakers up loud for everyone in my band to hear and we all had our lighters out for you Pino!
does anyone know what tuning this is played in? i can play this style but nowhere near this good and want to start writing loadz of it. But That particular tuning i really like
It's all about the emotion. Gotta love that. I hope someday I will find a D 28 or something with as much character as this one. New guitars are sweet, but I have to sway towards the lore and history behind a used axe. Just wonderful.
I think because of his classical background Pino works a lot with phrasing, and he just has Soooo much control. as if he could just play the guitar with his mind, without using his hands...
Wow. It is so depressing to see so many negative statements. What I see and hear is a guy with his passion for music expressing one of many parts of his self awareness. I thought of suicide because I saw the live version in the video response prior to watching this. If you watch the ending to that live version, he strums once behind the nut at the end, it just sends a chill down my spine.

Well I'm sorry. I would say tho, that it needn't always be 'complex' to be beautiful. The fact he can find such gorgeous melody with the level of simplicity is amazing.
