Excellent! I love the redirection of force shown here, and using his own movements to defeat him :)
(I am a Baguazhang practitioner, and have done tai chi amongst other chinese styles. From a bagua perspective, I really enjoyed the winding around the back of him and controlling him there. That's one of the main characteristics of bagua)
very good technique! im a chen style taiji practitioner and i was wondering, do you do any sort of transition from push hands to sparing to be able to stick like that in a match? and how long have you been practicing?
Thank for your comment. I'm not sure this can call a transition from push hands to sparing or not, but we do some hand-sticking fighting, just use Peng, Lu, Ji, An for control, use Cai, Lie for destroy position and balance, strike with Zhou(elbow) and Kao(Body strike) and all use sticking and controlling, for punch and kick just are option.
After that, go to sparring match and fight with all another styles, especially Thai Boxing. That is what I do.
Please put up more! This is great to see! This may look easy to some people, but your sticking and control is very good, and you do it all in gloves, proving that this art isn't limited by equipment. Keep training and providing us with your progress!
after all tai chi is not so useless. but the karate guy sucks it seems to me.

Person with black pants appears to be using tai chi. I can recognize some karate from the person in jeans.

Nice how to defend yourself without seriously damaging the opponent !
Can you do another video about how to use Taijiquan for selfdefense. I am very interested for your interpretation. :-)

Cool thanks. I really want to be able to use taiji in sparing matches but i find it difficult to stick. How long have you been practicing taiji?

I have been practicing for more then 10 years. But IMO 2-3 years of practise is enough for sparring or self-defense.
Thank you.
