I never understood Bert's obsession with pigeons. They're the most disgusting, loathsome birds on this planet. They're crawling with diseases, they eat crap found on the street, and they shit on your head without batting an eye! Couldn't he be into a nicer species of bird? Like seagulls or sparrows or cardinals?

This Sesame Street skit is a prime example of the old saying, "To each, his own."
Bert loves pigeons, Cookie Monster loves cookies and Oscar(as we all know) loves trash. This skit is about individual taste.
