  • Sounds so fuckin AWESOME!!!

  • Sido Goldjunge hat den beat geklaut

  • Sido - Goldjunge/ Nazar - HDF Gold ? :D nice

  • This video brings back memories of seeing ELO on this tour in Knoxville, Tennessee, amazingly enough. I was 14 years old and had just started high school and had just bought the "Out of the Blue" album. When I heard "Tightrope", "Rockaria", and other songs not on the "Out of the Blue" album at the show, I knew I needed to buy their earlier albums. "Tightrope", "Rockaria", and "Living Thing", among others, make "A New World Record" the best ELO album extant, at least IMHO. Thanks for posting.

  • @sweetbrowneyedlady You mean you've NEVER seen the Out of the Blue, Live at Wembley video?

  • I remember Mik Kaminski doing the Violin solo in Melbourne, Australia, the laser beam shining off the Mirrorball hanging from the roof of the Myer Music Bowl, bloody awesome!!!!!

  • There were rumors that ELO would visit in our country in Finland in 1978 but that didn´t happen though they toured in our neighbour country Sweden. Jeff Lynne was interviewed in 2001 in Zoom project. He said, yes I have never been in Finland but maybe this time. Well, maybe this year 2011 !. Anyway Tightrope is a great track.

  • How sad I will forever be in knowing I will never get to see ELO live.

  • powerful and amazing intro.

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • at 1:15 was it always done by piano??

  • @hbkgirl75 on the studio version i believe it was slide guitar

  • Only thing I don't like about this video (and some of the others from this performance) are the stupid camera effects they used.

  • @lonstar70 I agree! Too bad those can't be edited out!

  • The chelloist with the goate is FINE!! wow..

  • @Starlitblond That Hugh McDowell, the world's first "bad boy cellist".

  • When I first watched the tape of this concert many, many years ago, I thought it looked like Bevan had boobs. Said to myself, WTF? Had to rewind to see if I was seeing things. Nope, it still looked like it. Of course the tape I had (still have) wasn't very clear, and we didn't have hi-def back then. Watching farther, we can all see that it's just his shirt flapping open as he moves. Bev DID have some gorgeous hair, there, didn't he?

  • 'twas a dude.

  • that was pretty good, too fast though, very close to album track which i reckon hard to do live so many different notes n instruments coming together, well done elo, cheers.

  • Epic

  • Absolutely great performance !! Its a bit fast, but it is the live adrenaline. They do this very well, with enormous precision i think.

  • oh shit... I just noticed... is that a chic drummer....

  • @Starlitblond lol, no! it was the 70s! Its Bev Butch Bevan

  • sooooo goood..

  • god what a great band.. we miss you Jeff.

  • is that one drummer making all of those beautiful sounds?

  • Bev Bevan is a very Talented and busy drummer Live

  • lol.. I grew up with them in high school... man they are awesome..

  • epic intro

  • Wow! I didn't know Kelly Groucut had died. Man, that's sad, great musician. I think that ''A New World Record'' was the best album they ever did. I didn't like OOTB at all, or Discovery or any of their later stuff.

  • GREAT

  • "it's TOO fast waaaaaa!!!" - I think some of you people are just getting TOO OLD!!!!

  • When I first heard this version, I thought "whew, that's fast." But live concert performances can be that way sometimes. Some bands will play or sing something in a different key, which bugs me more, cause you have that recorded audio in your head to compare it to. I like this peppy version. Sometimes now when I hear the album version, it sounds kinda slow for me. Like children, I love them both, equally, for different reasons.

  • I think part of the thing, too, with them playing a little faster paced, is that when a band with as many hit songs as they have, tries to fit in most of their songs into a concert, the faster pace can happen, for time's sake. They are certainly not the first band in concert to do this, and it just doesn't bug me.

  • OLD SCHOOL ELO FAN 4-EVER

  • Love the sound. I'd given up on the OOTB tour due to the ropy sound. Thanks for posting it.

  • Thank you Kelly. R.I.P. my friend

  • I just purchased this DVD. Must have for any ELO fan. Sound is fantastic!

  • R.I.P. Kelly.

  • Bassist Kelly Groucutt has sadly passed away on the 19th of February 2009, I am sure all ELO fans around the world will join me in condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Kelly, you will never be forgotten

  • ELONut congratulations !

Finally this show sounds as great as it deserves.

  • My faith in ELO has been restored! When I bought the original DVD I was 100% certain that they were playing to a backing tape and occasionally lip-syncing, and my respect for them took a huge knock. Now it appears they were really on-the-level after all.

How the "restored audio" could make this difference I don't understand, but the evidence seems to be there!

  • The low voice from Elderado and Fire On Hight not here. They replaced it with an electric guitar.

  • all those other previous SHITTY sounding versions of this concert should all be put on a bonfire and set alight!

  • Excellent

  • whats the dvd called?

  • Out Of The Blue: Live at Wembley (special edition) (2006)

  • Just got hold of the 'remastered' DVD. Watched it. Great.

  • @trap0001 Where did you get it? This has the real live audio it sounds so AWESOME!!!

  • @maxboye1122 - HMV Music Store, that was 3 years ago though. Might find it on Amazon now or eBay.

  • @maxboye1122 u will find it on amazon

  • The reason we had to wait this long for the proper release of this concert was because they had misplaced the high quality master recording and they had to instead utilize the made for TV master mixed with the studio recordings to make it sound decent. However it was still monophonic and inferior to high quality stereo master of the original performance. Thus the infamous "they lip-synced" rumors were started. Thanks ELONut once again for the upload!

  • Its my pleasure to sink all the Lip-sync accusers! I urge everyone who has any liking for this band to seek out the remastered DVD of this, its the one Without the Discovery vids attached! on Eagle-vision

  • The sound is a lot clearer on this, the old video didn't do it justice. Nice to hear lots of twiddly guitar bits & strings that were inaudible before!

  • Though it is an undoubted favorite track of mine I never got to perform this track. Shame.

  • Thanks ELONut excellent!!

  • Huge improvement thanks
