What's the big deal with the interracial marriage issue???? You need to put this issue within its rightful context. This was/is just one of the by-products of deep-rooted hatred, racism and slavery in the Americas. You are talking from a position of disconnect between an issue and its source, no wonder you're so perplexed by it. Everyone. We're the human race. It's been shown that, genetically, a white man can be closer to someone in, say, Africa, than to his white neighbour (except in the south of the US where, as everybody knows, people marry their sisters and cousins all the time ^^).

Genetically there are no human "races", scientifically the word is an outdated relic.

Racism is a tool used to devide, generelize and descriminate against people and should end, no one benifits from it. It is sad that there still are rasist and closeminded people in the world and some of them are even judges. Any couple of adults should be allowed to marry. At least today people are shocked to hear such news unlike people living in the 50's.

In one comment AnAverageSkeptic stated that nationalities are the same as races, that french and germen are equavalent to black and white, but i don't believe that's the case. There are only three races but various etnicities, for instance: african, arab, european, eastasian etc and various nationalities like: german, french, duch and so on. There are three races: negroid, mongoloid and caucasian, and of course a mixture of the above. Just wanted to clerify that.

If I made the comment that race is the same as nationality I apologize. I made a video before saying that I don't think there is such a thing as race. There was a special by National Geographic about this and basically ALL humans no matter part of the world they are from can be traced back to somehwere near Ethiopia.

Basically what it boiled down to was that EVERYONE is 99.9% identical and there were about 7 groups that headed out from EIthiopia.

When you marry anyone you also take on the families from both sides..interracial marriages in my mind are two people that are looking for trouble. I knew plenty of interracial kids and they didn't go thru any hate. They were treated as normal people. My high school sweetheart ended up having interracial kids and from what she says everything is fine.
