SONY..would just like to let you know..Me and loads and loads of Roy fans will NOT be buying the stuff you are putting on the shelves now..a) coz we have most of the tracks ..a rip-off..and ..b) coz you keep doing this sort of thing..dis-abling audio or even the whole song. And Barbara..we will NEVER buy your perfume ?? or your silly wallpaper signed by you..It's ROY people love..not you or the get-rich quick schemes you come up with.....G.M. London..U.K.
Man... what can you say? It hasnt been normal for a musical artist to be this moving in so long... music isnt even the same concept as far as I'm concerned. Hasnt been in the last decade at least
Sheer brilliance, I have this video on dvd and I must have watched it a 100 times, To me roy was fantastic with everything he sung , but this is one of my favourites.
Ok Roy was and is without a doubt the very best beyond question. While elvis could sing he was not a songwriter and in my opinion was an early version of boyzone or westlife as in he was a manufactured artist. If roy had elvis' looks the so called king would never have been heard of end of story.
Roy Orbison at his operatic best. This is what Roy Orbison is all about. His music helped me through some dark times. He died on the day I was accepted into University. RIP Roy.
Mark (ramey58) one thing is for sure, IF anyone had thought you were serious they would have called the guys with the white jackets and no arm holes (straight-jackets) out to your house because either you're crazy or just should be locked away somewhere that all the Roy Orbison Fans couldn't get to you!! LOL
Great song here and it's in my fav's now. Thanks Mark for sharing it with me....:) Thanks to scotttavres for posting this .
I don't know why they even let this in the studio. He can't sing. Off-key, no range or feeling. Can't stay on pitch when he finally picks one. He'll never make it. Absolutely awful! (For you who don't know me, I'm kidding. Being serious is too much like work.)
It was a shame that when his songs in the late 60s came out, only the real fans were buying them. We had to constantly look into the records bins as no one was promoting him! It was a big deal to beat out other members in my family to be "first."
Thank you for this beautiful song, I saw it on the abc this morning on a Roy Orbison Greatest Hits special and it isnt on any of my albums. Fell in love with it & cherish this video clip. Cheers xx
Blondie told me she had been in a school class with Roy and he had some kind of a musical band. Who knew then that he would turn out to be the greatest singer-song writer ever and me and Donna Lee (and tinorbison) his greatest fans. Donna Lee and I tried to do his version of, "Crying," with KD Lang once. We recorded our practice song and it turned out very bad (we did it later for a senior citizen group, much better) but, in her memory, I might post it anyway.
I was in Odessa, Texas in 1950 or 51 with a girl friend named Blondie. She was cute as a bug, a knock-out. She and I were at a store getting cokes. I had my Harmony guitar with me and was waiting at the car. Blondie came out just as some guy started in. He saw my guitar then he saw Blondie and asked if we would like to come to a party at his friends house. We declined. We left and I asked Blondie if she knew him and she said his name was Roy something or other. Who'd a thunk it, 58 years later.
This song is new to me, I love this unique voice, It can't be duplicated, Roy's death was a tragic loss to the music world, sadly missed, Thanks for the link Mark
Oh Mark, if this song is new to you brother, I can only imagine what it would be like for you to hear all the music from this era, it is so overlooked and to me is alot more better than Monumental years, just my opinon, but as he got older, his music and voice, only got better and better...esp in the 70s on his later MGM material...this is from 1968.
Thanks Mark..........don't believe I ever heard Roy perform this...........once in Ft. Stockon , Texas when I was in my early 20's with a friend, we met a lady that pulled out her high scool year books & showed us pictures from Wink, Tx. with non other than the late & great R.O..........he was in a band in his high school as well, surprisingly his appearance did not change that much from his teenage days until his adulthood.........thanks for sharing this video................Jo
Wow - what a song. A sad story but great lyrics. Thank you Mark for this link. Listening to Roy here gives me goosebumps. He has one of the most unique and fantastic voices ever created. We can always recognize him singing when we don't even see him. I saw him in the western movie "The Fastest Guitar Alive" (1968) a couple of weeks ago and he did a really good job in his role. He sang and played his guitar of course . He looked mighty fine, too. Thank you Scott for posting - Paula
I have to agree with you.Elvis really appreciated Roy and for a good reason. This song is something else. These guys really knew what the song is about and how it should be performed.

I was listening to this again and realized that The Big O had another talent that put him a step above Elvis.
Listen to the use of the full orchestra in the background, it's a part of all the songs that were applauded by the listeners.
Mr Orbison had a beutiful and unique voice but you should try to recognize the gift he had to add big band musicians to his works.
Just listen to the music and think about it, it's there and something that Elvis didn't do.
Big O is the Boss guy
