@optimo1967 I've owned 2 R1's and a B-King. I can tell you now, the MT-01 is more fun than all of them combined. It takes a different riding style to fully appreciate the big twin. It's the best bike I've ever owned. nothing like the frame twisting from 112+ft/lbs of torque every gear. Riding isn't about top speed or quickest lap times, but the enjoyment you get from from riding, and the MT-01 is the king of enjoyment IMHO,
@semtex84 Liked your views Ive I sold a 2004 XJR 1300 last year and miss getting out for a ride, Ive been looking at the old shape VMax , the new shape Yamaha FZs 1000, 06/09 reg and the dealer near me has a 2005 MT01 Im not into speeding about but I do like some overtaking power and also my Daughter likes to ride pillion , Not sure what to buy and reading this has thrown a spanner in the works
@o01maximus10oYou're correct about the 600's, don't be sill re a few other bikes leaving my bike in their dust, the Busa does 0-60 in 2.4 secs so unless you have nitrous or a rocket strapped to your arse I hardly think I'll be eating their dust!!! And tired nah I don't think so mine's only done 12k and feels tight as a drum, old design maybe but still fast as fuck.
@Elitdarkphoenix I hate to break it to you, but although the MT01 makes stupid amounts torque, a 600 will still eat if for breakfast. I own 4 bikes, one of which is a stage 1 MT01. It's a great bike and a heap of fun around town and on tight country roads where it excels. On fast sweeping bends and long straights, just about everything leaves it wanting another gear or two. Don't let the 'busa rider get to you though. There's a few machines that leave those tired old spit buckets in their dust
@woisah, power is measured in bhp matey not torque, I'm well aware your tractor makes more torque much lower down the rev scale but the Busa is one of the worlds fastest bikes at almost 200mph I'm sure your tractor can't match that! In fact it's pegged out at 130mph if you're lucky! By the way the Busa makes 99ft lb of torques and yes it needs more revs but with 175bhp it's a missile trust me.
Once again your bike is not the most powerful but is certainly very torque laden.
woisah4400, your MT01 is not the most powerful bike on the planet, it makes less than 90bhp, I own a Hayabusa that has 175bhp, and the new one makes 194bhp, to say the MT is the planet's most powerful bike is ridiculous.
i also crashed mine last year due to an emergency brake from the woman in the car in front of me, but it was only damaged lightly on the pipes going out the motor to the exhaust with other small things!
But its fully repaired and good as new, can´t wait to get on it as soon as the weather gets warm, the Mt 01 is the most powerful and coolest bike on the planet, sure it´s a beast, but if you don´t like beasts then don´t ride one!
Just wait until someone has a small fall with it and gets scared. after he shitted his pants, he will sell it for nothing basically... That's how a few friends of mine bought their bikes...
Even though you got some bad "thumbs down", you hit the nail on the head. A lot of folks, once they have that first accident, a bike scares the hell out of them.
This is the best bike and motor sound on the planet earth!
