@katherine11982 It really does depend on the gerbil......I would say MOST are friendly and easy to handle, but there are a couple gerbils that don't like to be handled and will bite if you try to hold them(rarely happens though)

I've had 5 gerbils and they were all very friendly.....except 1 would always bite if you tried to hold it too long :/

hey i have one gerbil and i can tell you everything. ok, Go to your local pet store and Get a gerbil of ur choice. so if u get a chage make sure it's a tank cage cause if u get a bar cage, they chew the bars. make sure they have lots to chew on and lots to do. the People should tell u everything to give them and to do. They are awesome pets!!!! they dont bite. no need to tame. so get em' try to start with one Gerbil not 2 or 3 or more.

one of mine does that to i guess they learn as they get older wat might be good although its still fun to go and catch them though

Before you do practice holding your gerbil untill it is comfortable in your hands

First set a clear boundary (I used the edges of a rug) put them in the middle and if they go off the edge pick them up and blow gently at their face and replace them in the middle soon they will learn their boundaries!
