love this actor but another bad carbon copy of another film "le dinner de cons" at least dinner for schmucks had their own take. whats a point of a director if he is just going to carbon copy another film. but thumbs up for the director to trying to introduce a fantastic plot and something different to an audience that loves bollywoodcrap.
Guys... the original is a French movie called "The Dinner Game" It came out in 1998...same story... The protagonist in the original is an IRS agent and Vinay Pathak is from the Indian Tax department in this movie..
Hey Mr Poser077 this movie for your kind info was shot in 2007 and dinner for schmuks in 2010 so maybe Steve Carell copied his movie from this..... stop speaking like you are the Director of that movie....
@poser077 Dinner for smucks was an American movie and got out AFTER bheja fry. The real original movie is a French movie called "Le Diner des Cons" released in 1998 (It's a classic in France and I watched it a lot of times..). So your comment is all wrong... except the fact that yes, bollywood copies all the time...
@Stonefalconetti for the first time bollywood did a good job at copying stuff otherwise the bollywood copies are always shabby and pathetic. This one was pretty good though.
@ginnyforever18 both Bheja Fry and Dinner for Schmucks were adapted from the french movie Le Dîner de Cons....bheja fry was released in 2007 and Dinner for Schmucks in 2010...
@JohnnyTheWolf yes hindi is a national language, but english something we always talk in, and almost everybody knows english. :) so visit india if you are from an english speaking country you wont have any troubles :)
@ihatesql i heard about this...its so strange to hear a foreign county not speaking their national, native tongue. thats like france speaking spanish....wierd. is it cos they are embarrass or they just love the western culture too much and want be like them as much as possible.
@MrRedsamuria oh not at all.... if one thing we Indians are the most proud of its our diversity and our secularism. every indian is proud of his/her own culture and its one thing we thrive on and cannot afford to loose. Its like loosing our identity... I know 7 indian languages, and English is one of them. If i need to talk to you it would not make sense to talk in Hindi or Malayalam or Gujarati or Marathi or Tamil or Marvari, I would use English :) so that you understand.
@MrRedsamuria also, india has globalized a lot while keeping its roots and cultures in mind. with all the globalization english has become a part of everybody's language. but still in between friends we talk in the language we are comfortable in, and in a professional setting we use English a lot but once we are back home its the mother tongue that is used to talk and communicate... peace...
@JohnnyTheWolf I'm buying the dvd Le Diner de Cons! Can't wait to watch it and keep up with my French. Bheja Fry was an awesome movie and yes, it's extremely common to mix up English and Hindi; and other languages in the mix. Though, it IS done with varying degrees of competence; the more educated families will use correct English grammar...
@JohnnyTheWolf english is the official language of india most ppl dont know that..in south india people cant even speak hindi properly but they speak english

I didn't know that Bollywood did a remake of 1998 french film Le Dîner de cons. Interesting...
But why are they speaking in both english and hindi? Is it common in India to switch from a language to another?
JohnnyTheWolf 1 year ago
@JohnnyTheWolf yes...in subcontinent its very common to blend languages :)
ravi402 1 year ago 2
@JohnnyTheWolf
Actually yes. India has a lot of languages and most of the people here can easily speak more than 2 languages. :)
