  • "On great fields something stays. Forms change and pass; bodies disappear, but spirits linger, to consecrate the ground for the vision-place of souls. . . generations that know us not . . . shall come to this deathless field to ponder and dream; And lo! the shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into their souls." Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, 1889. Though hero of Gettysburg, he said it all for all time. GREAT JOB, BRO! Mike

  • Every american should visit sharpsburg and gettysburg. These places have a tendency to help people understand what being american truly means.

  • Well done! Fascinating to consider that each of those flames represents a life lost on that tragic battlefield so long ago. Thank you for putting together and sharing this experience of yours!

  • this was excellent.. i want to see the battlefield in person.. have many near here in richmond area. Why is the lumenarium done in Dec?

  • @irish89055 It's done in December because there is less of a chance of a wild fire. In the summer months and even into the early fall if a bag would catch on fire, it could very well cause the fields to catch fire and quickly go out of control.

  • I love this video. I lived in Sharpsburg for many years on a farm not far from the battlefield.... this was so well done...thank you. Starshine6060

  • Hi, nice video. If I read your son's shirt correctly, I used to live in Blairsville. This is a great event and I too encourage everyone to attend.

  • Nicely done! I encourage everyone to see this unique tribute in person.
