Brian Drummond is the only VA that suits Vegeta. I actually liked Sean Schemmel as Goku because he seemed to deliver a lot of emotion to the character. Ocean never really settled on a single VA for Goku throughout the series, although the very first VA they used for the Saiyan saga Goku was amazing imo.
Vegeta's explaination of how he transformed is quite epic. Just seeing how much he struggled to achieve his goal made me feel how he felt, during his training.
Brian's voice acting skills are very good, especially for the emotional scenes. The way he emphasises his emotions is something I can't describe. But, it's very good.
As much as Brian Drummond's Vegeta is amazing, the music that Ocean put in is terrible compared to the mastery that is Bruce Faulconer in Funimaiton. Plus the other voice actors are better in Funi. But at least Ocean Dub is far superior to the "Big Green" dub.

I'm American, I grew up watching DBZ and noticed the voice acting change in the middle of the Namek Saga after Goku's Arrival. When FUNimation wanted to do their voice acting in house, it was the biggest mistake for the franchise. Ocean Dub had the better quality in my opinion and I find it shameful and disappointing that I can't find the Ocean Dub episodes anywhere nor can I buy the series in the States due to the corporate fallout between the two.

I'm American, I grew up watching DBZ and noticed the voice acting change in the middle of the Namek Saga after Goku's Arrival. When FUNimation wanted to do their voice acting in house, it was the biggest mistake for the franchise. Ocean Dub had the better quality in my opinion and I find it shameful and disappointing that I can't find the Ocean Dub episodes anywhere nor can I buy the series in the States due to the corporate fallout between the two.

I moved countries and couldnt watch dbz for like 3 years so I could barely remember how the Ocean guys sounded like but I knew that they were different. But safe to say funimation is better. Ocean dub voice actin is just embarassing at times I mean really. It made DBZ seem like such a kids show and at times it doesnt even make any sense. I mean look the guys gave BABIDI THE EXACT SAME VOICE AS KRILLIN.

i liked how the funimation voice actor told the story... but the ending when he says "The royal prince has awakened. I am the greatest of all saiyans once again!" Was better than the funimation actor's way of saying... he put so much emotion into it... it's touching. Gota love it.

@AzEvanz There's no such thing as which one is better. I personally think that Brian Drummond's Vegeta voice is crap compared to Chris Sabat's. It's all personal preference. I think that Brian's voice is too low and not deep enough to be as good as Chris's. Chris is definately the better Vegeta in my opinion, hands down.

@AzEvanz Yeah but I only liked Ocean dub for the old vegeta. I prefer the new vegeta (chris sabat) for the rest of DBZ. The voice is so awesome and amazing. A deep, raspy, voice, I can practically see the saiyan pride in him with that voice. I always imagined vegeta with a deep raspy voice (when reading the manga) kind of like sabats is what I imagined before watching the anime.There's something about sabats voice and Vegeta's character, his voice fits vegeta's character so well :)

The funimation script is also slightly different at times and has been modified. In fact Ocean's scipt is laffable often. But Vegeta is NOT evil... thats the problem. Drummond sounds evil like some sorta villanous monster but if you really knew and understood his character you would know that deep down he is not. He is just like every other saiyan the only difference is that he is a proud prince. But Drummond makes him sound like some sorta villanous monster with a voice that scares children. lol I'd go with Sabat any day. You can sense the arrogance and pride when he speaks unlike Drummond who just sounds angry.
