@epic22 Don't overestimate this masterpiece laptop, Yet I don't know if it's a troll or anyother thing, but apart from the uploader not getting an HD camera to just make you feel better, or, show off the details of this laptop, this is a very very awesome great laptop, I had it for like 8 months and then for my own neglect. I let it die :( it had an nvidia quadro NVS 140m very powerful! it could run, MW2, Crysis and other top game titles. so yeah.. its a ver good laptop ^^
@TheMasamura112 lol I was just joking. I'm a huge IBM/Lenovo fan myself and I believe apart from the older T42/43's, the T60 and T61 are one of the best laptops ever made. You can slap on a SSD and this machine will perform much like, or even faster than some of the machines today. Also you can't beat the 16:10 display. I personally own a Thinkpad X220 which is an amazing computer.
Amazing how the 140m could run Crysis?!? wow im impressed. what were your frames? and what settings?
Something I really want to say is I really don't see the point of changing the top cover from magnesium alloyed to the so called screen roll cage (i.e. Metal plate with plastic wrap) which is much thicker, heavier and uglyer. The top cover is actually not flat but curved. It feels like there is a huge bubble in the screen.
btw, mine T61's backlight burned out within the first week of purchase.
Is it easy to upgrade the ram on the t61 or do you have to go with several screws and procedures to upgade. Also, nice video it helped me to decide to purchase the t61.
I have a T61 myself. Are you having problems wirelss being off after it sleeps? It seems like the only solution is to reboot. I'm reading the same problem in forums with the T61.
I found a solution for mine now and it was basically the power profile settings. I created my own custom profile settings and that's when all my problem started. I'm sticking with default profile settings now, whatever came with the pc. Now the wireless settings come one after sleep. It's some setting in there but I'm not even going to bother finding what it is. It works fine and there's enough default profile settings to choose from.
Good news since I have ordered my T61 since today before I have seen your comment! :) Anyway I will install the XP on it and then load the drivers from IBM website to see its optimum speed :)
i bought a totally refurbished t61 a week ago for 160 pounds and i am very happy
