MAybe the cbers should try to have a get together where they dont violate every law known to the us government. Good thing there's a rumor that the FCC will be giving police power over cb to Hams soon, including billy clubs and tasers that can be used on illegal radio ops. At least thats what i hear about your country.
Basically these folks cram all the CB wattage amplifiers they can into their trucks, put more alternators in so the vehicle can handle the power, and see who's setup drowns the other out. It's stupid really, these folks have no idea how dangerous high power RF radiation truly is...
Basically how a "keydown" works is two vehicles with the same type of amplifier park side by side facing a distant base station. When given the go signal they both key up for 10 seconds and whoever the base station hears is the winner and they advance to the next round. Since both vehicles have to have identical size amps (# of transistors) "cramming your truck full of amps" is not part of this competition.
i gotta get myself a old suburb and do this, looks so much more fun than being on my base - 0247 Connecticut

Just got back from the 10k shootout and it was awesome. Maybe the ham operators should try having a get together where people have fun. LOL

But you do, so please tell us in detail exactly how dangerous is a 10kw signal at 27MHz at 10 feet away is? What is the SAR?
