@5drumb When I hear this song, I imagine a modern-day Civil War in America. If there was a rebellion, it would probably go down something like this. Sadly alot of the things mentioned in here are being done by the gov't nowadays... "We got computers, we're tappin phone lines.. I know that aint allowed" Sort of like a 1984-style civil war, where the government is keeping tabs on everyone and no one can be trusted
@UngratefulLiving420 In UK we've got a practical police state, a complete joke of a country now, we've got the most cameras in the world I think, it doesn prevent crime. I just realised now this song isn't just some great musical innovation, it has an apt messege into it.
@FlyingDoctor1988 It's crazy man. And they convince us its for our own safety. Take gun control laws for example. They dont reduce crime, they promote it... criminals can still get guns illegally, so all gun control laws do is put everyone else at a disadvantage. If a criminal knows the person he is about to rob doesnt have a gun, he will be much more likely to rob them. However if everyone was not only allowed but encouraged to carry a firearm, criminals might think twice before robbing someone
Talking heads are awesome! check out 1. burning down the house 2. Naive melody 3. Once in a lifetime 4. take me to the river (al green cover) and if you really want to learn more about the t. heads, check out the original song "genius of love"
He's a pretty straight-laced guy (doesn't even own a pair of jeans), but once I walked down to the basement and he was totally rocking it out with a sweatband and everything!
That was the first time I thought my dad was truly badass.
@MorbidBliss22 Love that story! I'm lucky enough to 'talk' with Chris Frantz on Facebook he's a great guy and Jerry Harrison and wife visited my art studio...all nice people! More importantly their music is the blueprint of my girlhood. You can't be considered New Wave or Indy if you don't know about The Talking Heads. Classic artists.
my son's only 9 weeks and he loves this and psycho killer. he just lie's there smiling, kickin' his legs and shakin' his arms and then stops when its over, haha
@FetaCheese222 He'd been producing the group since "More Songs About Buildings and Food", the album that precedes this one, which precedes "Remain the Light"...

I have read somewhere that Gene Wilder played percussion and conga on this song. Weird but kinda believable. Anyone know how to verify this?
BellaPhoenyxFyre 3 weeks ago
@BellaPhoenyxFyre No way to truly confirm this but apparently it is true...he also played the congas in I Zimbra...he was friends with David Byrne
