  • I have KAFO braces on my legs

  • I invented afos that will change her life. I have bilateral drop foot.

  • what is the difference between a afo and a kafo i dont see it in the video

  • @rslnvss The difference between the two is the amount of support they give. At the top of the KAFO, you'll see an extra plastic shield that goes around the thigh. It is connected to the rest of the brace by a piece of hinged metal. The AFO is just one solid piece of plastic that comes up to the middle of the calf or bottom of the knee. KAFO stands for Knee Ankle Foot Orthotic- hence the piece above the knee. AFO is just Ankle Foot Orthotic.

  • OK.

  • I wish the KAFO was put on to see how it works while on.

  • @cworwa That is a good suggestion. I would make an update to reflect that, but we recently had derotation surgery and no longer need a KAFO, since the main reason we had it was to align the feet correctly (as opposed to support).

  • Very informative. I pray for the day when we all get up and walk.

  • This was extremely informative!
