  • J Dilla is one of the best producers of all time, but Slum Village fails mostly due to the fact that the lyrics are pretty mediocre l:

  • @teethofghosts elzhi is the best lyricist alive.

  • @rmsg120nsb Ehhhh I beg to differ. I think in terms of rap lyrics, MF Doom, the members of A Tribe Called Quest, and Tyler, the Creator could be better lyricists.

  • @teethofghosts opinions, but el is a serious lyricism case. plus, this album has no dilla production.

  • @teethofghosts They could be but they're not

  • no one has anything to say about everything gosh i read alot of these comment ,people are bored

  • @Dschaylizy I'm talking about the song, not the video....

  • Black Milk produced the beat? I thought it was Dilla!

The original sample is from King Crimson's "I Talk To The Wind".

But you won't understand HOW. And I always hear people saying how hip-hop steals music from other people and makes it their own. Bullshit, if you can flip a King Crimson song and have it come out like this, that's some of the best talent on the earth.

  • @visualkei72 true the sample is awesome

  • @Dschaylizy Believe it or not, it comes from "I Talk To The Wind" by prog rock band King Crimson.

  • @MyJunior1975 yes a friend of me showed me the sample ... i know it but i dont remember the name but u hooked me up thx

  • Whoa, no Soulja Boy fans allowed on this page hahaha jk but I mean why did dude get negative fmarks for telling someone else to listen to Soulja Boy? Now as intelligent human beings as we are, If you're a soulja boy fan, don't view this page, go somewhere else. This is probably my second favorite track after Won't Do. Dilla was and still is a genius.

  • @RuckFulezRKO123 sorry im no sb fan but thats fucked up.

  • @RuckFulezRKO123 Dilla didn't produce this.I know BR Gunna did, but this sounds like a Black Milk track if I had to guess which one of them did it. With the King Crimson sample and what not. But Idk.

  • @RuckFulezRKO123 Dilla is and still was a genius, but....... this beat was produced by Black Milk. check it

  • @4ndomestic BLACK MILK AND BR AMONGST A BUNCH OF PRODUCERS TODAY WERE VERY INSPIRED BY DILLA INCLUDING PHARRELL KANYE ETC ,DILLA LIVES ON ,THE INVENTOR OF NEO SOUL, THE ONLY PRODUCER WHO CAN MAKE A SAMPLE NOT SOUND CHOPPY .PREMMIER ,9TH WONDER ,PETE ROCK WERE ALL FREAT BUT DILLA WAS ON A NOTHER LEVEL ,I COULD EVEN SAY HE WAS ON THE LEVEL OF DRE SHOCKLEE OR EVEN MARLEY MARL

    Props

  • BLACK MILK!!!

  • Why was that necessary? Just because we disagree on the meaning of the song, doesn't mean you need to disrespect me. Your unwarranted disrespect for my opinion is very hypocritical considering you believe that this song is misogynistic.

  • you make it seem like it says something deep when it doesn't. "touch me, feel me, suck me, really..."..or some shit...... haha....this is so shit

  • Lol, okay...so you don't like the song...But this song really isn't misogynistic at all. It's just sexual.

  • you only think "touch me, feel me, suck me, really" is mysoginistic cos no chicks ever asked you that :P

ahah im kidding man. but for real a song is more than 10 words!

  • I dont know any man that hasnt thought that, when they saw a girl with "the goods" lol

  • people definetly sleep on slum village

  • Dope.

  • im sposed to see them this sunday at rock the bells SF but i think they gon take sv off the card

  • rip baatin. you will be missed

  • Touch feely Suck me really? haha i love SV

  • yo shut the fuck up, why do you care so much, if you dont like the video dont watch it

  • its a song about sex.

A natural function, you make it seem like the lyrics are about something absurd.

I like this song its simple and smooth.

    3dy-CFG

  • It' simple, but unless you're in a weird polyrhythmic state, it stays on beat worse than a drunk walking the line.

Maybe that's some of the appeal; breaking the beat with the flow, you're focused on the flow. For tracks like this though, I'm inclined to say there's too much hype behind the performance. Ain't shit said on this track, and it was backed with mediocre delivery at best.

  • ? You Make It Seem like this track has Cursed you. Its a song that is not portraying any foul ideals. it focuses on natural functions. It plays on words, stays on beat through the use of a kick through out the entire song. and is extreamly smooth instrumentally.

It sounds like your trying to be a Simon Cowell by putting it down.

    3dy-CFG

  • This song actually implies that sex is more than a physical act that's centered on the pleasure of the man. It portrays sex a sensual/sexual connection between two people that love each other. I don't think you actually took the time to listen to the lyrics. This isn't like the mainstream stuff you're probably attempting to associate it with.

  • dont know what the dude said... but he chose the wrong shit to ATTEMPT

  • love playin this kinda music in the background of parties, not all loud and crazy, smooth and cool.

  • This track is sick. And black milk produced this? I gotta check his album that he dropped then. I know hes dope, but i've just been sleeping

  • i think this should be played in clubs too if you think about it, this music is that good :)

  • maestros

  • who said john legend produced it? ha ha

  • i feel like they is a tribe called quest of today

  • good song bit boring thow,. j dilla !! all day babi

  • think Jhon Legond produced this thing

  • HELL NO :| This is a Black Milk production... Says so in the album liner notes...

  • Can tell a Black Milk beat from a mile away.

    The dudes bass is serious

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • props on the vid looks good plus good choice of song

  • slum village have those special soul vibe beats...so nice!

  • j dilla!!!

  • Its a great beat and it has a dilla kinda feel 2 it but check the album credits dilla aint produce it

  • fan videos tend to suck but this one is actually very well done!

  • This is one dope song
