Edwards isn't taking a dime from corporate lobbyists or PACs. He's the only one talking about FOREIGN lobbyists influencing our government into bad trade deals, which are sending more and more of our jobs to other countries.
Edwards divides the anti-Clinton vote, and so undermines the prospects for the changes that he passionately demands in government. He helps Hillary if he stays in the race and boosts Obama if pulls out.
Edwards deserves a special place in our politics for his efforts to bring poverty to national attention and to take account of the needs of the poor. But now it's time to read the writing on the wall and obey the verdict of history. It's time for Edwards to pull out.
Thank you John for fighting for us. Thank you for taking on the corporations that will stop at nothing to keep us from having universal health care, renewable energy, and a living wage! You are a good American.
A corporation has a right not to offer healthcare. By bringing healthcare into the workplace, you would be tying yourself to your job. What will happen if you leave the job, then your healthcare goes. Healthcare in general is not a right. An individual has a right to choose whether he wants healthcare or not. The government cannot coercively take money that I worked hard for. This is is merely enslavement
The only thing Comrade Edwards has going for him is his ability to seduced and convinced people who are naive and ignorant of facts. That's the same asset he made his fortune on; convincing juries that they should gave ridiculous amount of money to him and his clients.
right! EDWARDS MUST BOW OUT TO MAKE ROOM FOR OBAMA, THE FUTURE IS COMING. I WUZ WATCHIN THE TUBE, AND THEY SAID EDWARDS IS TAKING VOTES FROM MY MAN OBAMA, THAT WHITEBREAD. GET OUT OF THE WAY, OBAMA IS RISING, AND WE WILL RISE WITH HIM TO GET WHAT WE DESERVE, STEPOFF
Well, I have a degree in economics, fluent in 3 languages, worked as an international consultant engineer for 26 years, started 3 companies in 3 countries, awarded 5 patents. There are still a couple of us canuks who are on the "right" side of life. One of my favorite is Mark Steyn. He actually resides in the US now but he is Canadian. It is the most lucid writing about the world in general and America in particular that I have read in a long long time. Also the fact that he managed to make it funny as well as pertinent doesn't hurt any. Cheers :)
John Edwards can implement the Patients Bill of Rights because he has NOT taken campaign contributions from drug companies and insurance companies. Most candidates can't make that claim, not truthfully at least. GO EDWARDS!
Each and every one of us who truly wants to help fight the corporate greed that's strangling this country will, I hope, persuade 8 others (for '08) to vote for Edwards and send $20.08 to his campaign. (Easy to do online with a credit card.)
Are you kidding, if you know anything about economics you would know that corporations or any business have to maximize profits in order to pay for its employees. So in a sense they must be greedy if they didn't their businesses would not survive. Try to take a pay cut and see who is being greedy now
So you think it's fair that our government taxes American worldwide corporations--making record profits year after year--at a LOWER rate than average workers?
Edwards isn't opposed to corporations, only corporate greed and corruption.
I think its unfair to tax any individual. I think its wrong to tax the corporation because of its wealth. They earned those profits and they have a right to use it to for their disposal. You think corporations are corrupt, you never look at the government who takes your hard earned money without asking you.
Get out of the race Edwards, i like your message but you don't stand a chance. All your doing is taking votes away from Obama & Clinton, back off bro'. Even John Kerry is backin' Obama, get off it man...your vice president material, that's it.

He will stand up to corporate greed and get things done. He's not like John Kerry thank goodness.
Hmmm, You don't happen to work for Diebold Voting Machine company do you? How can you be so sure in your prediction? Or is it "positive thinking" on your part? I think the American people are smart. Yes, yes, yes, yes!!!! I've heard him address all these issues. He's leading on all the important issues. That's why mainstream media trivializes his campaign.
I hope enough of us wake up, vote for Edwards, and send the People's Champion on as our nominee in the general election.
He has the best chance of ANY candidate, D or R, to bag the general election if only we will do our part and support him as our nominee. [Rasmussen Reports, recent CNN Poll, Global Strategy Group.]

The coming results of the NH primary do not reflect the response of the people from the debate a few days back. I've read blogs, forums, and listened to the radio - a good 75% of the people reflected a strong Edwards stance! The results of this primary can only be the result of fixed voting machines or dishonest counters. The Edwards staffers need to send instructions on how to do our own exit polling!!! Never Give Up the FIGHT!!!
coo:"The coming results of the NH primary do not reflect the response of the people from the debate a few days back."
Edwards had his chance to dispose of her once and for all by exposing her as a phony. Her claim of 35 years experience is based on her being the wife of an elected official. Had he said so, and exposed her for the liar she is, NH would have been different for him and her.
Now he has to deal with her until they nominate a candidate.
Why 'Meaningful' because each and every time Congress has passed another Lobby Reform Bill the press says '...it lacks Meaningful Reform'. John Edwards will be the difference that has been missing in Washington DC.
Edwards running on the REAL platform for change in this race. Just shameful how the mainstream media keeps framing this between Hillary & Barack, even though Edwards came in 2nd, beating Hillary in Iowa despite being outspent 6 to 1!
Which candidate scares the conservatives the most? Edwards, because they know they can't co-opt him. He's going to dismantle their good ol' boy network, and give ordinary people a voice. No more lobbyists writing legislation!
Lol edwards is a clown, one of the most corrupt candidates look up who he sold his house to and how much money he took from families in class action suits....absolute scumbag
Why 'Meaningful' because each and every time Congress has passed another Lobby Reform Bill the press says '...it lacks Meaningful Reform'. John Edwards will be the difference that has been missing in Washington DC.
BO will say what it takes to win. HC will do what it takes to protect the top income earners in this country, which the Clinton tax bracket includes.
I listened to both the Democratic and Republican debates. With the exception of Edwards, the other candidates were talking about how much they were going to charge you for health care.
There are over 40 million Dawn's in this country who don't have the money for any plan.
Do they needlessly suffer and die without coverage?
What is your point? That she lied? I don't like billary, but John Edwards nailed her on so many other issues that your "concern" is tantamount to nitpicking. Bottom line, John Edwards won this debate because he stuck to the issues and his plan for America. The other candidates failed to do that. Going after another candidate like you suggested not only turns off voters, but is quite juvenile and does nothing to further discussion of the issues.
james:"your "concern" is tantamount to nitpicking."
That is a really big lie, and it is what she is basing her whole campaign on. If Edwards was to expose this, and deal with it, he might not have to keep facing her over and over.
If she wins New Hampshire (Or does well), she is not going away. If she loses here big and a few more, he will not have to deal with her anymore and can concentrate on Obama.
You really don't give the voters in NH enough credit to see the nonsense for themselves. I have to agree with stevegojira here when he plainly says that 'your idea of politicking is the same tired game of slinging mud'
I understand your frustration, but John Edwards is winning this on the issues, why be like you and billary and sink to the lowest possible road?
So you say today. BUt what about tomorrow and the next day, and the day after that? There are a lot more places she can win, gain momentum and pass them all.
Tell the truth, expose the lie, and get rid of her.
weedapeople:It is not me saying this alone. All the polls agree that billary is far behind in NH.
Anyways, all your complaining won't change a thing and besides, if what you say holds any credence, then why doesn't John Edwards use your 'strategy'? It is simple- because it would not work and it is a tired antiquated game of trying to sling mud. Oh, and one more thing, when have most politicians like billary ever told the truth? really, man you need to get your head out of the sand.
james:"It is simple- because it would not work and it is a tired antiquated game of trying to sling mud."
Telling the truth is not "slinging mud". Why doesn't Edwards tell the truth about Hilary? Because he doesn't want to totally piss her off and keep himself from a vice presidency is she is nominated.
weedapeople: "he doesn't want to totally piss her off and keep himself from a vice presidency if she is nominated" What is that based on? Your statement is pure specualtion and that may be giving it too much credit.
Your 'truth' turns voters off and Edwards is smart enough to avoid lowering himself to that level.
I agree with JameslovesBridgette. Edwards stuck to the issues and he mentioned real life examples that people can relate to. Edwards did in fact win this debate.
Note to weedapeople: you would be a horrible campaign manager as your idea of politicking is the same tired game of slinging mud.
YES! Rasmussen Reports now says John Edwards is up NINE points in less than one week! I am so happy that despite the few times you don't hear OBAMA/CLINTON on the news, that the message of the working class getting their rights back & someone who will fight for US for a change! rasmussenreportsDOTcom
I appreciate his passion, albeit misguided, but someone should tell Mr. Edwards that the United States of America is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.
Mr. Edwards gave a good example of who Hillary is representing for. It maybe a good idea for him to highlight the fact that HRC is the candidate who got the most of lobbyists' money - the democrate and the republican candidates combined!
To listen to her saying things she does
makes me wonder what she is trying to do and who she is trying to fool.
I'm amazed that nearly everyone I speak to is talking about John Edwards and plans on voting for him. Young people, progressives, even southern baptists I've heard latch on to Edwards' message. Yet the media gives John substantially less face time than HRC & BHO.
I can't believe that Obama is running on change and leading currently. He has aligned himself more with lobbyists than HRC. Google search Obama Hires Lobbyists. It will be very enlightening.
You're right. Thats why people should support Edwards instead of Obama. Edwards is the only candidate has vowed not to allow lobbyists to work in his administration.
I support this man with every bone in my body, for the reason that he supports me and he supports the american people. we need John Edwards for our next president. america needs to be put back into the hands of the american people not the hands of special interest groups or big business.
Obama is too tepid, too cautious, he can talk the talk but he will never be strong enough to fend off the right-wing attack machine. If Obama becomes the nominee, the Republicans will probably win the election. Therefore, if you want REAL progressive change and if you understand that making serious changes means a huge fight, then you need to get behind Edwards and contribute to the campaign. Only Edwards is strong enough to lead this battle.
JOHN - you are so COHERENT and with it - you know what is going on in this country and enough of the status quo - not enough changes in congress and when you are president and we give you a strong democratic congress we will get REAL change - not lobbyist INFLUENCED 'change'
tim:"im a republican and support john edwards...if that tells u anything"
Not really. People claim all kinds of things on the net. Most of which are not true. A famous one is "Kim from Long Island", who claimed on CNN youtube debates that she had cancer and no health care. It turned out she was on Government assistance, and has state care.
There's only ONE Democratic candidate running; JOHN EDWARDS! Its time we stop mega corporations from ripping off the middle class. They control congress with lobbyists, and as a result, we are loosing our ability to earn enough money to pay the taxes we owe. There is hardly enough money left, after we pay taxes, for other bills, like heating, and food, and shelter. JOHN EDWARDS can stop them! We NEED THIS MAN FOR OUR SURVIVAL!
I think John Edwards did great last night... I think he will do right by us....you can tell he is truely geniune and that is what people want right now, a person you can trust. Go JOHN EDWARDS!!!! Good Job last night!!!
HE SEEMS THE most coherent.. i like that he thinks before he speaks and then the others tried to ride his coat tails. he is concise and not all over the place like , the others. it is just my opinion though.
I just hope the people of New Hampshire were paying attention last night- because if they were they saw hands down who the real agent of change in this election is- JOHN EDWARDS. Unlike Hillary and Obama, who sided with Bush and corporate interests when it came to the recent trade agreement with Peru, John Edwards sided with the labor and environmental organizations that opposed it. Guess a million jobs lost to NAFTA weren't enough for Hillary/Obama. We need someone who will stand up for US.
Edwards is the the best candidate who has consistently fought big business in support of the people. The media companies don't want him to win because Edwards will stand up to them in the interest of the people. If the people of America really want change and really want someone who will fight for OUR interests we should vote for Edwards or Kucinich.
The isn't about who is charismatic who can give a good speech or who can tell a good joke. It's about who is going to fight for the little guy, who is going to stand up to the lobbyists and who is going to put America back on track ...IMO that person is John Edwards! The media has already picked their candidates, now it's time for you to pick yours.
It's taken a very long time, but John Edwards finally won me over last night. My heart is really with Dennis Kucinich, and that's who I will vote for in the primary (knowing he doesn't stand a snowball's chance) but Barry Obama is no longer my second choice.
I do like both of these candidates, and I'd be very happy with that outcome, but I'd prefer to see Edwards as Pres and Obama as VP. I think Obama has the ideas, just lacks in experience but should still be in the whitehouse. Although, as I said, any combination of Edwards and Obama would be great.
Yet another great moment explanation from John Edwards. He's the best candidate to fight for patients, consumers, pet owners, and, well, for the entire middle class. Thank you and keep up the good work Mr. Edwards!
I knew Clinton would come back with Bush's veto of the Patient's Bill of Rights ... I thought that would've been funny if Edwards had brought up instead his legal strategy to save Bill Clinton from Impeachment.
how touching of you to share that! I agree, John really hits home runs sharing the passion in his heart! I so hope he wins the nomination with his hard work and taking the attack on the poor & workers by the corporations personally! We need him.
John Edwards would be fighting a lot harder for progressive goals than Obama.

Good luck today in NH!

Edwards for Meaningful Change '08
Why 'Meaningful' because each and every time Congress has passed another Lobby Reform Bill the press says '...it lacks Meaningful Reform'. John Edwards will be the difference that has been missing in Washington DC.

Edwards running on the REAL platform for change in this race. Just shameful how the mainstream media keeps framing this between Hillary & Barack, even though Edwards came in 2nd, beating Hillary in Iowa despite being outspent 6 to 1!

Edwards won this debate.
HollyLuvs69 4 years ago
The video clip of this debate was a small example of why Edwards should receive your support.
BO stumbled through his answers. HC proved she is for the rich, and will not make changes to help you.
Edwards will win over Republican voters in a general election. BO or HC will bring out record numbers of Republican voters to vote against them.
Consider your options now. BB or HC will give the Republicans what they want. The White House. Something you cannot afford.
itsrtime 4 years ago 4
itrtime: I totally agree with that summation ;)
JameslovesBridgette 4 years ago
BO will say what it takes to win. HC will do what it takes to protect the top income earners in this country, which the Clinton tax bracket includes.
I listened to both the Democratic and Republican debates. With the exception of Edwards, the other candidates were talking about how much they were going to charge you for health care.
There are over 40 million Dawn's in this country who don't have the money for any plan.
Do they needlessly suffer and die without coverage?

Did you notice they all avoided the question about what happens when the baby boomers retire?

Edwards in '08!! It is time for meaningful change
JameslovesBridgette 4 years ago 9
james:"John Edwards won this debate."
Why didn't he go after Hillary for her blatant lie about "35 years of experience"?
She has been an elected official since 2000. Before that, her "experience" is as a "Wife".
If your husband works for 30 years as a mechanic, does that give his wife 30 years of mechanical experience?
WeedaPeople 4 years ago
What is your point? That she lied? I don't like billary, but John Edwards nailed her on so many other issues that your "concern" is tantamount to nitpicking. Bottom line, John Edwards won this debate because he stuck to the issues and his plan for America. The other candidates failed to do that. Going after another candidate like you suggested not only turns off voters, but is quite juvenile and does nothing to further discussion of the issues.
JameslovesBridgette 4 years ago 3
james:"your "concern" is tantamount to nitpicking."
WeedaPeople 4 years ago
She keeps saying, we are all for change, but I have 35 years of it...and she doesn't. She has 7 years at best, and that record is not that great.
You have to deal with the lies and expose them or you have to keep dealing with the liar. Expose the lie, shut her up, and get rid of her for good.
WeedaPeople 4 years ago
You really don't give the voters in NH enough credit to see the nonsense for themselves. I have to agree with stevegojira here when he plainly says that 'your idea of politicking is the same tired game of slinging mud'
I understand your frustration, but John Edwards is winning this on the issues, why be like you and billary and sink to the lowest possible road?
btw, billary has NO chance of winning NH
JameslovesBridgette 4 years ago
james:"billary has NO chance of winning NH"
So you say today. BUt what about tomorrow and the next day, and the day after that? There are a lot more places she can win, gain momentum and pass them all.
Tell the truth, expose the lie, and get rid of her.
WeedaPeople 4 years ago
weedapeople:It is not me saying this alone.
JameslovesBridgette 4 years ago
james:"It is simple- because it would not work and it is a tired antiquated game of trying to sling mud."
Telling the truth is not "slinging mud". Why doesn't Edwards tell the truth about Hilary? Because he doesn't want to totally piss her off and keep himself from a vice presidency is she is nominated.
WeedaPeople 4 years ago
weedapeople: "he doesn't want to totally piss her off and keep himself from a vice presidency if she is nominated" What is that based on? Your statement is pure specualtion and that may be giving it too much credit.
Your 'truth' turns voters off and Edwards is smart enough to avoid lowering himself to that level.
JameslovesBridgette 4 years ago
I agree with JameslovesBridgette. Edwards stuck to the issues and he mentioned real life examples that people can relate to. Edwards did in fact win this debate.
Note to weedapeople: you would be a horrible campaign manager as your idea of politicking is the same tired game of slinging mud.

Mr. Edwards gave a good example of who Hillary is representing for. It maybe a good idea for him to highlight the fact that HRC is the candidate who got the most of lobbyists' money - the democrate and the republican candidates combined!
To listen to her saying things she does
makes me wonder what she is trying to do and who she is trying to fool.
psychmaster11 4 years ago
I'm amazed that nearly everyone I speak to is talking about John Edwards and plans on voting for him. Young people, progressives, even southern baptists I've heard latch on to Edwards' message. Yet the media gives John substantially less face time than HRC & BHO.

John Edwards is the REAL progressive.

We need someone who will stand up for US.
asdffd 4 years ago 2
Edwards is the the best candidate who has consistently fought big business in support of the people. The media companies don't want him to win because Edwards will stand up to them in the interest of the people. If the people of America really want change and really want someone who will fight for OUR interests we should vote for Edwards or Kucinich.
VitalityVideo 4 years ago
The isn't about who is charismatic who can give a good speech or who can tell a good joke. It's about who is going to fight for the little guy, who is going to stand up to the lobbyists and who is going to put America back on track ...IMO that person is John Edwards! The media has already picked their candidates, now it's time for you to pick yours.

It's taken a very long time, but John Edwards finally won me over last night. My heart is really with Dennis Kucinich, and that's who I will vote for in the primary (knowing he doesn't stand a snowball's chance) but Barry Obama is no longer my second choice.
