Really, is it that difficult?? Make a hole in a cover n put a pump over the hole n pumping the air out? Damned that sounds impossible I dont even know where to begin. Please make a written tutorial with a diagram!!
Clever Idea with this. What's your method with the tape to not have a sticky "center". Do you simply place a small piece of tape in reverse over that center section allowing only the ends to stick?
Also, when you vacuum seal things that have liquid in them, the water boils at room temperature due to lower atmospheric pressure in the jar. So it dehydrates the food some. It doesn't hurt it though, it's just something to keep in mind.

The pump comes with the special tape.
