This song speaks volumes!!! My friends dad passed 4 years ago. This was 1 of the songs played @ his funeral. My friend is a big old teddy bear, but I held him in my arms just now while listened to this version of the song!!! When it comes down to family, especially to parents, we are all a big HOT MESS!!! Sadly missed, but fondly remembered!

I first heard this beautiful recording being played over external speakers from a store in the Brick Landing shopping mall in Myrtle Beach, SC well over 5 years ago. Until that moment I'd never heard of Lari White. I immediately went in and purchased her album. I've heard this song many times but never with the feeling she intones. She's one of my top favorites and I'm sad that she's shortened her singing career. God blessed her, and us, with her wonderful singing voice.

I have never heard a performance of Amazing Grace I did not like. It's the song that matters not performers. This is a song of redemption and It is a disgrace for people to come here to compare performers. If you are so focus on the performers and not the words of the song then you have learned nothing, and you are lost. Lari White is amazing, so is everyone who sings this song from their heart.
@YT102008 In my comment, my attention was on the singer. That doesn't mean that the words are less important. Indeed, if one reads up on the writer of the song, we find what really is important in life, and that is salvation by means of Jesus Christ. Those who don't believe that are the lost ones.

Don't get me wrong, I love Lari White. A child or anyone else who does this song "with heart" is just as moving and will bring me to tears. It's the song that matters not a singer's ability. I have loved Lari and this song in particular since the release of the album back in the nineties. I am so glad that so many of you share those feelings. She is incredible, and so underrated that it is disheartening. I hope she sings her heart out forever, I have requested this song, by Lari, to be played at my own funeral if that untimely event ever to happen. Love this version, and love Lari just as much! Keep supporting her!!!
