  • @MrPrancinghorse This is the only version.

  • @MrPrancinghorse I have found different tunes for this madhurastakam on you tube. Do you need only subbalakshmi's version or is it ok if sung by others also ? There are many other tunes and one tune is really unique and interesting (may not be the tune you are searching for .... but just give a try , you may like a lot)

  • Sweet song and lovely pictures of Radhakrishna!

  • Bhakti - which saved India from being totally Buddhist ,Islamic or Christian is the shortest and the most effective way to Satchitananda.

Every other path is caught up in the snare of opposites - is it or not.

This path leads straght to the the Source

  • without buddhism idol worship would not exist. they made lots of statues of the buddha, when hinduism resurged the devotionalism combined with sculpting skills created all of these gods in murti form

  • @gujjucheap resurged? Perhaps you are confused but let me offer some insight, Hindu idol worship is seen in temples, art, literature and many other forms well before Buddhism showed idol worship. Not to mention that Hindu idol worship is even suggested in Hindu religious texts which i am sure you know date back well before Buddhism.

  • its resurged because it went inot decline for a while due to buddhism. before buddhism there was no murti worship, it was the greeks who brought over the ideas of worshipping statues, before that hinduism focused around the vedic fire. the hindus texts you mention are not as old as buddhism , the puranas were fianalised during the gupta period which is after buddhism

  • @gujjucheap The Puranas are not the only Hindu texts, there are also Upanishads and Vedas, among many others. The Vedas are dated at least a thousand years before Buddhism. Not to mention that Buddhist beliefs stem largely from Hindu beliefs and practices. For example samsara, the whole cycle of life and death, karma and yogic forms of religious devotion. All concepts and beliefs which have long been incorporated in the Hindu religion.

  • yes everything u said is correct, the vedas and upanishads are far older, however i was only speaking about the puranas whose stories may have some fact about actual events but have over time become changed as things have been over the centuries added to them that they are not absolute historical fact any more.

  • Most charming. Most evocative.

  • Shri Vallabhaacharya , was a Madhvaachaarya follower. He setteled at Kaasi( Vaaranaasi / Benaras ) and founder of the MADHURA BHAKTHI . He brought the bhakthi cult to comman man level, propagating only Bhakthi is main than Bookish knowledge. Shri Chathanya maha prabhu, Gour, Nithaay, Kabir,M eera and later Shri Prabhu paada cotd. his way. ISKON fallows this Madhur Bhakthi only.- Aarani Apparao-Hyderabad-A.P.

  • MS is Lord Krishna's gift to mankind!

  • This is Madhurashtakam, it describes the beauty, inner and outer appearance of the lord and is sung by beautifully by M.S.Subbulakshmi and Radha Viswanathan.

  • I really like this bhajan, especially when these two ladies sing it; they add their own pizazz to the song.

May I know what this song called and who sung it?

    Sincerely,

    Abhishek

  • I think it was commposed by Adi Shankaracharya and this rendition is by M.S. Subbalakshi and her co-singers.

  • Thank you so much.

    Sincerely,

    Abhishék

  • Thanks for ur comment

  • You should change add more tags so people can find this better

  • M S's rendedring is blemishless. But the title here should read "Adharam Madhuram" and not as written here. And the stotram is Madhura Ashtakam (and not Ashtagam).

  • Thank u for comment

  • @sbalas2000
