I was there...my father and I went on that selfsame ride, and it couldn't have been long thereafter. We lived in Pinetown at the time. Good times...now just a distant memory.
It looked nice back then and I am wondering why people would be proud of the mess it has become such as farm murders and affirmative action... I am not talking about the black people in africa who actually want to make the country better, I am talking about the ANC scums and those who are running the country to shit, we cannot see a malema nightmare turn it to ruins like zimbabwe.. I would like to see some progress between the black and the white. I'm american by the way and see SA as a friend
You people are a bunch of racists!!! And you should be ashamed of yourselves. I know a lot of smart black people, and they are much smarter and much harder working than you stupid lazy so called, "superior white people." And much nicer too.
Durban - the place of my birth, a city in one of the most beautiful countries on earth, a place I hold such fond memories of, a city my heart was always belong to, and a city I can never return to. The fear of having my throat slit while I sleep in my bed at night puts me off. What an utter shame.
Wonderfull memories of Durban from those days. Today it is a dangerous filthy $hithole of a third world slum. Yet the anc tells the durban rate payers its never been better and they are fixing it.
K4 = monkey!
Reciently a friend told me the sea water smelly of crap on a good day and worse at other times. Did you know they lost their blue flag status due to the polution and filth.
What do you expect from those lazy incompitent commies.
@arsezania Unless everyone agrees to make the country better and stop the ANC scums, I think the whites should revolt, and I support the volkstaat option, that and a revolution are probably the best options if the ANC doesn't clean up their act... Being racist is not the most positive thing in the world, but I would rather make my country safe than allow criminals! It's not all blacks that are causing trouble, much of them though are ruining it for the others which is what's going on
You are right about the ANC and I don't blame those who left the country since.... There have been a lot of farm murders since 1994 and crime has got worse... I feel sorry for all those who worked hard especially the working class who have ended up in squatter camps because of affirmative action... I don't live in SA but I understand how it is for white africans especially after what happened in Zimbabwe and the way it sounds, it will get worse for SA and Namibia and I really don't want it to
Super cool, i remeber that log at the Beachfront and that worm i think it was Bennie Book Wirm! lol What memories, those were the best days and now look at it :( breaks my heart.....

@railroadtie69 How do we do it though? I've been thinking about that a lot lately, and unfortunately the whites are too outnumbered.

The 'Water Log' - I went on that. I had my tenth birthday at the funfair. Now Durban is a dangerous mess.

This is classic 1980's Durban on 88mm! What an amazing treat to see. I went on that water ride as a child as well. Thanks for the memories.
