The greatest fire/EMS/Rescue show ever was Emergency! It is very dated when you watch it now but it was such a great show. No other show since, not Third Watch nor Trauma has been able to recreate the magic that was Johnny and Roy on Squad 51.
@Soprano4000 sorry to say NBC canceled the show. However there are petitions people are signing and wtiting emails to NBC trying to get it back or even better get another network to pick it up. This looks terrible. I've been waiting for a good Paramedic show for a while since Casualty no longer seems to focus on them but this looks like typical American BOOM, EXPLOSIONS, SFX, crap.

This really looks like a rip-off of Emergency! from the 1970s. Obviously Paramedics, me knowing cause my friend is one, will not dart around a leaking fuel truck until the firedepartment says its safe. But i guess if viewers want EMS choppers crashing into the sides of buildings and stuff, .....
March 8 can't get here fast enough for me; I can't wait for the new episodes!
I love this show; I hope it does well enough in the ratings when it returns so it gets picked up for another season. Each episode kept getting better IMO; the interaction between the cast members is wonderful.

Finally, a show that depicts EMS accurately! I'm a paramedic, and I can tell you this show is as real as it gets! Well, most of it. I usually experience an explosion or helicopter crash only two to three times a week and not every day like in the show, but it's Hollywood and they need to make the job more exciting! If you haven't seen it, definitely check it out to get a glimpse of what it's like in the exciting, adrenaline pumping and explosive world of the paramedic!

I work in EMS and its nothing like a t.v. show. This is a little over the top for me, I think they are trying to upstage 3rd watch. There is a Hispanic a slutty White girl one Black guy and a cocky over the top medic, is that not third watch or what!
Goddammit...why there have to been an exploding helicopter....that's too much...but it looks like fun...it's funny that the people are complaining about the mistakes which are kind of unavoidable in a tv-series...ER was full of it, but it was still a fun character driven, interesting and actionpacked tv series (not perfect, but NO tv serie's perfect or near to perfection)...it's entertaiment, no documentary...I'm glad if a show is as truthfull as possible, but that's nonthing i can't overlook
I do this kind of work with state parks (park rangers) and I also have one helicopter rescue under my belt. which was pretty intense and interesting. =] the guy lived and he learned a lesson that day. this show should be a good one..and I just have to wait until it comes out.
Seems good but I could see it getting repetitive and boring by the 5th episode..The world has already had ER..Its too soon to be making a heart tugging, intense drama thats based in the medical field..This will get axed, which is a shame cuz derek luke and that maori dude are talented
I feel that this is completley different then ER because it takes place in the field, and things are way different there then in the ER. I think this show is going to be awsome. It is what goes on before the patient is in the ER.
I know but the ambulance/paramedic/emergency unit all fall under medical field..The tone of this show isnt comedy or soapy like just about every new hospital show on now like mercy,private practice,house,greys,hawthorne e.t.c Its more serious drama and is looking like its going to be character driven..In the fickle medium of tv that is enough similarities to call this show another ER..And when it premieres and it gets dogged u will know what I meant
I see what you mean now. Even if it does get dropped, I still think it will be fun to watch for awhile. Especially if you are a firefighter, and you can relate to what they are doing and why they are doing it. That's why I think it will be interestind and fun to watch.

To those that are tearing the show apart, its why they call it FICTION and ENTERTAINMENT it's not suppose to be real. If it was NON-FICTION then maybe you could tear it apart. No Offense to anyone.
I think this show is going to be great. It may have a few medical mistakes but mostly us who work in the field have the trained eye to be able to spot them, but to the general public they dont. This show will express how really dangerous our job is and hopefully help open they eyes of people who take what we do for granted. I think this show is a great idea. For Christ's Sake the guys an actor! They can't do effective compressions on someone who's alive. The OPA puzzles me though. How do they have an OPA in that guy's mouth? Maybe it's a fake... Maybe they cut the back off.
Plenty of people can take and OPA while conscious. At a minimum, they could just use a smaller size.
Also, I agree. I'm tired of people complaining about CPR not being realistic in shows or movies. You can't do real CPR on someone that doesn't need it without causing problems.
2) Tanker fire, risk of BLEVE, should have had an emergency move instead of C-Spine and treatment next to a BURNING tanker. Should have referred to ERG, etc.
3) C-spine compromised at 17 sec
4) Exploding Helicopters (usually, they don't explode)
Bro this is only a show, you can't expect them to do a proper chest compressions on a alive patient. Likewise they can't really insert LMA or do ETT on a conscious patient.. but I do have to admit that it's kinda of exaggerate.. but nevertheless it's a good show.

fire? you mean over glorified jack assess, you could train a brick to fight a fire. the rubber meets the road with medics, the only fire that is awesome is fire medics the rest of em are hired hands. there is more action in 5 min on a trauma scene than 5 hrs in a blazing fire

This really looks like a rip-off of Emergency! from the 1970s. Obviously Paramedics, me knowing cause my friend is one, will not dart around a leaking fuel truck until the firedepartment says its safe. But i guess if viewers want EMS choppers crashing into the sides of buildings and stuff, .....

I love this show; I hope it does well enough in the ratings when it returns so it gets picked up for another season. Each episode kept getting better IMO; the interaction between the cast members is wonderful.

I don't think you're talking about 'Trauma'. It's not canceled, only off the air for the winter. Although it is true it was going to, but NBC had nothing to replace it with.

Yeh, it would be called "acting" if there was any decent "acting" in the show, but there isn't DB. That's the point. Crap like this is insulting to anyone's IQ, even a brainless wonder like bad self.
It's hardly entertaining -- it's just bad TV at it's worst, not entertaining, just nauseating and insulting to medical professionals and females. So cram it you stupid little puke!

Finally, a show that depicts EMS accurately! I'm a paramedic, and I can tell you this show is as real as it gets! Well, most of it. I usually experience an explosion or helicopter crash only two to three times a week and not every day like in the show, but it's Hollywood and they need to make the job more exciting! If you haven't seen it, definitely check it out to get a glimpse of what it's like in the exciting, adrenaline pumping and explosive world of the paramedic!

I work in EMS and its nothing like a t.v. show. This is a little over the top for me, I think they are trying to upstage 3rd watch. There is a Hispanic a slutty White girl one Black guy and a cocky over the top medic, is that not third watch or what!

Goddammit...why there have to been an exploding helicopter....that's too much...but it looks like fun...it's funny that the people are complaining about the mistakes which are kind of unavoidable in a tv-series...ER was full of it, but it was still a fun character driven, interesting and actionpacked tv series (not perfect, but NO tv serie's perfect or near to perfection)...it's entertaiment, no documentary...I'm glad if a show is as truthfull as possible, but that's nonthing i can't overlook

I do this kind of work with state parks (park rangers) and I also have one helicopter rescue under my belt. which was pretty intense and interesting. =] the guy lived and he learned a lesson that day. this show should be a good one..and I just have to wait until it comes out.

Seems good but I could see it getting repetitive and boring by the 5th episode..The world has already had ER..Its too soon to be making a heart tugging, intense drama thats based in the medical field..This will get axed, which is a shame cuz derek luke and that maori dude are talented

I feel that this is completley different then ER because it takes place in the field, and things are way different there then in the ER. I think this show is going to be awsome. It is what goes on before the patient is in the ER.

I know but the ambulance/paramedic/emergency unit all fall under medical field..The tone of this show isnt comedy or soapy like just about every new hospital show on now like mercy,private practice,house,greys,hawthorne e.t.c Its more serious drama and is looking like its going to be character driven..In the fickle medium of tv that is enough similarities to call this show another ER..And when it premieres and it gets dogged u will know what I meant

I see what you mean now. Even if it does get dropped, I still think it will be fun to watch for awhile. Especially if you are a firefighter, and you can relate to what they are doing and why they are doing it. That's why I think it will be interestind and fun to watch.

I think this show is going to be great. It may have a few medical mistakes but mostly us who work in the field have the trained eye to be able to spot them, but to the general public they dont. This show will express how really dangerous our job is and hopefully help open they eyes of people who take what we do for granted. I think this show is a great idea. Also want to thank all my fellow brothers and sister out there EMT and Medic thanks for doing what u do. Stay safe and God bless.

For Christ's Sake the guys an actor! They can't do effective compressions on someone who's alive. The OPA puzzles me though. How do they have an OPA in that guy's mouth? Maybe it's a fake... Maybe they cut the back off.

Plenty of people can take and OPA while conscious. At a minimum, they could just use a smaller size.
Also, I agree. I'm tired of people complaining about CPR not being realistic in shows or movies. You can't do real CPR on someone that doesn't need it without causing problems.

4 things wrong just from the trailer
1. Checking pupils in the daylight
2. If we dont know know what a guy coded... we give atropine...
3. The guy with the OPA in his mouth appeared to be A&O... evidently no gag reflex
4. My personal Fav. the flight medic with the surgical Cric... totally not in our scope in Cali.

5 More things wrong about this trailer.
1) CPR Compressions are not deep enough
2) Tanker fire, risk of BLEVE, should have had an emergency move instead of C-Spine and treatment next to a BURNING tanker. Should have referred to ERG, etc.
3) C-spine compromised at 17 sec
4) Exploding Helicopters (usually, they don't explode)
5) Exploding Cars (usually, they don't explode)

Bro this is only a show, you can't expect them to do a proper chest compressions on a alive patient. Likewise they can't really insert LMA or do ETT on a conscious patient.. but I do have to admit that it's kinda of exaggerate.. but nevertheless it's a good show.

I want this show its funny and it has action and best of all the people who die, really are not dead. There is too much reality tv, and you are either a paramedic, or emt, or maybe a nurse heres some news for you, not all the compressions were wrong why dont you just sit back and enjoy the action.

fire? you mean over glorified jack assess, you could train a brick to fight a fire. the rubber meets the road with medics, the only fire that is awesome is fire medics the rest of em are hired hands. there is more action in 5 min on a trauma scene than 5 hrs in a blazing fire

If you truthfully believe that any one public safety field could effectively opperate without the others supporting it, then your an aboslute idiot. Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, EMT's and Paramedics, as well as Emergency Department personnel all MUST work together to protect the lives of the citizens that we serve.
