The difference in the speeds from the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3G S is not the network speed. Network speed is universal between every phone. The difference is in the processing speed of the phone. The iPhone 3G S has a new processor and thus takes the information that it receives and converts that into what you see faster. The phones will receive the info at the same time, but the iPhone 3G S will convert it faster then the 3G because it has a better processor.

There is 2 variables you did not place. You can clear everything, but if the 3G was on longer, its going to be bogged a little bit, you should have rebooted or let them both sit for a while off.

The 3G is dimmed, meaning its using less battery, that also has an effect on how the layouts are displayed, its Energy Saving is finding a different way to use the browser, with less battery used.

I've been using the 3GS for a week now and it is without doubt quicker than the 3G. Apps boot up / close quicker, pages load faster and games are smoother.

However, the most notable improvement for me is in the email application. The 3G would freeze when switching between accounts or whilst the phone checked for new emails. Now it's nice and smooth, as it should have been in the first place :)

I would like to see a comparison between a 3GS running 3.0 software (obviously) and a 3G running 2.xx (the last 2.0 software update). It's a no brainer Carlos with the web, but not just the web but other things on the 3gs blow the 3g away. Turn the phones on at the same time and see how much faster the 3gs turns on. Not only that, if Carlos just flipped the phones to landscape you can see how much more responsive the accelerometer in the 3gs is. They are both amazing and great phones but apple upgraded their phones just like people urgrade their computers. Its WORTH THE MONEY
