I have owned 4 small businesses over the years. As a small business owner in Las Vegas and in San Francisco I can tell you from first hand experience that your statistics do not apply to small businesses. Small businesses employ abut 80% of the work force.
Faced with new taxes, a small SoCal corporation called his 26 employees in for a meeting. He said to stay in business he must raise prices by 10%. But, he said, the economy won't handle that, so he must lay off 6 employees. These people were like family and he struggled with who to fire. He was walking outside in the parking lot when it came to him. All the employees who had voted for change had OBAMA bumper stickers. He decided to give them the change they had voted for. He fired all 6 of them

Sure Bush cut taxes, but he also spent truckloads more money than he collected in taxes, on pork and weapons. Neither of these are worthwhile spending. They are inflationary and wasteful. He cut taxes to get votes. When you cut taxes it SHOULD be put money into the pockets of the PEOPLE. And Alan Leadspan (and Gordon Brown etal) thought they had invented the future and cured inflation, so they let bubbles form in the economy. The bubbles have burst and now we are paying the price.

How about we re evaluate our politicians and the entire political system.
You will never hear a politician screaming that we need to reform our political system.
Make it unlawful for a corporate entity to contribute to a political campaign.
Try looking at who is giving whom "contributions". See if it just so happens that the politician, whoever that may be, is in line with his/her major contributors.
Money speaks louder than words and I am afraid Pfizer has more pull than any one of you.

Up to now, Campaign reform rules have been a failure. Most on both sides of the aisle, say that if anything the reforms have had an opposite effect.
And what about the freedom of speech?
Instead of trying to add more red tape to the campaign rules, how about we work on improving education so that the next generation has some idea of civics and economics and history, so that we don't elect another socialist.

Here's how I see it. The only "fair" tax system is too tax everyone the same. lets say 10%. If you make $30,000 a year, you pay $3,000 in taxes. If ya make $300,000 a year, you pay $30,000 in taxes. So how does taxing the rich more than at present help the poor (esp when there doesn't seem to be much of a plan to cut taxes on the poor)? Answer: it doesn't: the rich are simply left with less monety to invest. But it sure does help those envious types feel better.
It is investment (the starting or expanding of businesses) that will drag the US economy out of recession.

Sure Bush cut taxes, but he also spent truckloads more money than he collected in taxes, on pork and weapons. Neither of these are worthwhile spending. They are inflationary and wasteful. He cut taxes to get votes. When you cut taxes it SHOULD be put money into the pockets of the PEOPLE. And Alan Leadspan (and Gordon Brown etal) thought they had invented the future and cured inflation, so they let bubbles form in the economy. The bubbles have burst and now we are paying the price.

Obama says that 95% of small business owners won't get a tax increase. But, he is counting self employed ppl who have no employees. Avon representatives and the guy with the garage in his back yard are NOT 95% of small business owners. Small business owners can employ 1 to 100 or more employees. They can enter into multi-million dollar contracts. Their business doesn't just get to keep all that money. There are employees to pay, materials to buy and equipment to keep up. Good grief!

Yep, and under his tax plan those making a ton of money pay 39% instead of the current 40% (oh, and the people making way less pay 36%, a whole 3% less, wow...). Either way you'll pay less than what you did under Bush, and it's not wealth distribution, it's just different tax rates for different income brackets. It all goes to the same giant pot (mostly to the military, not you the citizen).

You sure would. You would find that unlike Joe I am license by the state of VA to do my job. You will find that I also have a clearance with the govt because of the job I do. You will find that I owed the IRS about $1000 when I filed my taxes is 2006 and I owed the IRS and the state of VA a few thousand dollars in 2007 in which I paid. You will find that I make way more than Joe ass but not enough to go out a buy a business as Joe says he can. Other than that you aren't going to find much else!!

Somebody help me please. Obama is fairly wealthy, correct? He has an aunt (illegal alien) who lives in the projects in Boston, and his brother who lives in poverty in Kenya. In neither case has he "Spread His Wealth" to them. Why would we ever think that he would help us. Think people. I'm no longer voting for Obama.

under 250k for a couple we'll see a cut and under 200k for an individual will see a cut. The 150 and 120 by both Biden and Richardson were gaffes.

He's not raising taxes, he's cutting them by 1% for those making over 250k (39% instead of 40%) and 4% for those making under 250k (36% instead of 40%). So... sounds like you'll have more money in your pocket, not less.

Obama claims he won't raise your taxes. In his semantics, letting existing tax cuts expire doesn't count as a tax increase, even if you do pay more money.
He promises to raise taxes on your employer, investors, and the businesses you buy products from. He'll take the water from the other guy's side of the bucket, not yours.
Bush raised taxes on business in 1990 as we headed into a recession. The result was disastrous. Obama now wants to try the same thing.

Now he keeps changing his mind about who would pay the bills in his Utopia:
$250K->$200K->$151K->$120K
A few years ago he referred to $70K as the "peak" for the middle class so we'll probably hear that as another definition of rich pretty soon.
He also supported a tax increase on people making over $41K.
His record lends no basis for blind faith.

There was another politician who ran on change. The economy was bad, he said he would make a change "for all". He really pulled the wool over peoples eyes by utilizing the media to get his promises out. He thought he was the King, it was all about him, he was power hungry. In the end it wasn't the change his country wanted, nor did the world. His name was Hitler. We need a person with character, an honest person, or as honest as we can find.

No I havent heard of Godwins Law However I just cant vote for someone who care only about himself. He wouldnt go see troops in the hospital in Germany because they would let cameras in with him?? I am a small business owner and I can tell you this guy Joe knows nothing about business. He might make more than 250K now thanks to Obama (and not because of his plumbing skills). You people should go to Obama's website and read the tax plan. Bush and GOP are the closest thing to socialists by giving our money to the big corps you retards. You apparently know nothing about business or who you are voting for. You will suffer capital gains tax, so don't sell your store to move elsewhere. By the way, don't have children either, they will pay extra inheritance tax to inherit your business. Plus, I hope your employees don't have 401ks, they'll be crushed by his new dividends tax.
