Her voice isn't as distinctive and rich as Christina's, but she actually follows the melody all throughout and does belt the E5 perfectly - two things that Christina cannot do, even though the song was written to suit her voice!
Alex is a very good singer and I'd really like to see what she will be capable of as she progresses.

Look, it doesn't matter. You think that CA is the best, and I think she is mediocre. What matters is that her songs are enjoyable and Alex did a really nice version of one of them.
Just one thing: whistle notes are not that impressive, because they are just shrieks in disconnected falsetto. Many singers can, but don't bother to use whistle register. Belting high notes is impressive, and CA can't do it well. Whitney was better at it than Chris, and so could Alex be with a little practice.

The difference is that CA's timbre is brighter and her tone far richer. Alex's voice won't sound as bright as CA's, even if they hit the same notes. Still, Christina has to struggle enormously to hit those notes even for a second, while Alexandra only needs to improve her technique to transition smoothly between registers.

No way! Christina's voice has originality and a clear tone and many people are inspired by her... Alex is a good singer but we've heard it all before, only better...e.g. Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton.

Christina has an extremely agile and elastic voice, not to mention outstandingly good tonal quality. However, she is as original as every other pop star who jumps into a trend and she has a severely limited vocal range.
And she may be an inspiration for many because of the way she has been marketed, but come on! She can't compare to Whitney or even Toni Braxton. Alexandra, however, is a much better belter and, if she takes the time to develop her technique, she'll be fantastic.

I completely disagree with almost everything you just said....Christina Aguilera is one of the best vocalists in the world.... listen to her sing this live....then compare that to alexandra's attempt....it's completely a one horse race.

Actually, no. CA has a very good marketing machine supporting her and that is why she is considered outstanding. Most of the time, she can't perform her own songs unless she transposes them down by a whole third - songs that were written for her voice!
Also, whenever CA hits this note well while singing live (not often AT ALL), she cannot hold it. After the first second, her timbre begins to waver and eventually disintegrates. She is just OK, unless compared to other disastrous "singers".

I like ur comt but youre wrong. Im huge fan of CA.Yes Im. Fairly CA's soprano or maybe high mezzo, she cant control her notes well when she goes too high. That's true, but about belt notes, she's the best. People call her Grammy Belter... She's a very great singer, not a OK singer like you said. Alex's good singer, but her belt cant compare with CA... This's so adrift. I dont think this performance made someone crazy like CA did. I dont say this stuff to begin the argument, I just say truth.

Christina has hit the E5 on numerous occasions. That is one of her power notes from C5-E5 so you will not sit up here, and debate and deny, where the cream of the crop of her range lies. And she can sustain notes long, which is the 8 seconds for the E5 with substantial power. Just cause your an alex fan, don't discredit the original!

Untrue. Christina's best notes lie between D3 and B4. The clarity of her lower range is impressive (especially for a woman), and she has amazing agility, elasticity and power in her middle range (C4-B4). However, the upper mezzo range is beyond her talents. She can hit those notes for a moment, but she cannot hold or belt them. Her connected range is very ordinary: D3-A5. Everything above that are very forced whistles that she cannot control well.

Alex is such a great singer but I dunno if this song was her best. I love the song she did on Britney week which was Toxic. She was really good.
Oh yeah, and don't say that Alex has a much better voice than Diana cause they have so different voices because they are different styles. If you love Leona but hate someone like the cranberrys then you'll think Diana has a crap voice, and vice versa.
I want Alex and Diana in the final two, and im not bothered who wins, but I think Alex will!
