  • Thank you so much! Your explanations are very thorough :) I look forward to your future videos!

  • nice videos, and you look like jay park..

  • Pardon me but oh my god you look so cute you remind me of Jaebeom...and your teaching on fish and short sleeve t shirt is so clear...I am more motivated to get into my Korean lessons now especially after watching you. You're my new Korean language idol...May I fan-girl at you?

  • How come when you say 물고기 it sounds like "bulgogi" instead of "mulgogi" ?

  • @peachysnapples a lot of korean consonants have a soft sound and one sound can easily sound like the other.

non koreans mix them up very often

ex. gamsahapnida -> ppl mix it up as -> hamnida..

    it's a ㅂ consonant (p) and ppl mix it up as ㅁ (m)

  • @tokee1234567

When being pronounced, the sound of some letters get altered a little bit.

    Like "Seupnida" often becomes "Seumnida".

I don't know why, it's just how I was taught. Be on the look out for both.

  • It's the same in spanish!

There's two types of concept for fish.

    Pez - mulkogi

    Pescado - saengson

    Right?

  • Thank you so much for your video! Your detailed video is really informative. I am learning Korean right now, so it is very helpful!

  • Love your video! Your English's perfect, thanks for the lesson :)

  • 물고기 를 만히 잡아다.

    Somethings missing here..

  • Another one i've discovered:

    불means fire.

    꽃means flower.

불꽃놀이 means fireworks. Very poetic to think of fireworks as "fire flower".

  • @B94241 It's like that in Japanese too, I think.

  • 바다에서 바로 만든 생선을 잡을 수 있으면 아주 좋겠어요 ㅋㅋㅋ

  • I'm not Korean American ^^;; I lived my entire life in Korea, but I really like learning new languages and like to practice whenever I can :) hehe. Thanks! Did you go to the 연고전 this year, btw? I went to Korea Uni. :D :D

  • 나는 생선을 먹고 싶어요.

  • 저도 생선을 먹고 싶어요 ㅎㅎㅎㅎ :)

  • how do you pronounce " 한국어 "?

  • it's similar to 'han goo go' :)

  • thankyou very much! :)

  • yw :)

  • 생선 is 生鮮?then for my instinct it may mean uncooked fish to be eaten.

  • That's right ! :) 생선 is 生鮮, but it is also 생선 even after you cook it :)

  • Ah... interesting... if someone had spoken the word 물고기 to me, I'd have thought it was 불고기. I'd only know the difference if you wrote it :P

    Thanks! :)

  • Hahaha :) yeah 물고기 and 불고기 sound very similar, right? Hehe. But 물고기 is actually pronounced like '물꼬기' and 불고기 is '불고기' so the '고' is a bit different so you can tell the difference by that. Hehe.

    Thanks Sierra for watching!

  • I mean, it doesn't quite work in Korean, right? In English, it's fine... :)

  • Hehe. yeah there are a lot of English concepts that wouldn't work in Korean, and of course vice versa :)

  • When I first got to Korea I remember saying, "생선 있다!" when pointing some fish out in 청계천 and my friend couldn't stop laughing... I've also said, "내 커퓨터 죽었다" which in English, is doable... but I guess (based on reaction) doesn't quite fly in English. ; ) Thanks for the vids!

  • 하하하 If there are 생선 in the water of 청계천, I think people will stop going to 청계천 LOL.

Thanks for the comment! And yeah in Korean you say '컴퓨터 다운(down)됐다' ^^

  • i really think that korean language is too hard for me but these videos really are interesting :D

thank you for teaching me/us new things!

  • 감사합니다 ^^ Thank you for the comment!! Hehe.
