  • Really like the two-way design and the big wood trays at each end. Pretty darned slick.

  • i don't think i can justify having a splitter like that for my outdoor fireplace. There's more wood in that pile than there is in my whole county.lol nice machine.

  • Nice are the splitting dies adjustable in height?

  • Is there any way to adjust for different lengths of wood? Or is this just a "stove wood" splitter? Just askin.....O_0

  • i found this extremely entertaining :)

  • Remember that you can buy a simple wood processor with cutoff saw and conveyor running on a tractor PTO for 18K as starters, FYI.

  • Great innovative design! This is a wood processor junior. I mean that as a compliment! What you might do is to to offer an option with multiple layer splitting knives to eliminate extra passes. Your double acting splitter is a great idea, but maybe it would be better to do a single pass with more knives and shove another log behind the split one, like a commercial processor does. Then you have only one set of splitting knives. All in all, a very innovative design.

  • great job !

  • nice splitter but cost waaaay to much 4

  • Thanks I just pattened this design...you me me money now!! Just joking...go make a bundle on this man!!

  • Necesito información completa de la modelo bes wood splitter para fabricar leña y tienes alguna maquina que fabrique astillas pequeñas para iniciar el fuego.

  • Awesome machine! I wish i needed that much firewood, I'd use it for a day and it would sit all year. You should be wearing a tux...

  • It is always easy to critique someone else's work on the sidelines like I am going to do, but first let me commend you for the innovative idea the courage to manufacture it. So here is my question. I am curious why you don't make it more efficient in simply making the wedge larger so you don't have to handle the same long repeatedly. Seems if you make the wedge/splitter taller it would handle a long with each pass thus not making you have to grab the long and slide it into the other position.

  • @35Colorado That would take a huge hydraulic. My guess it that his hydraulic doesnt have enough power. And I doublt he needs more than 10 cords a day!!

  • wow ! looks so easy blind man can doit too !!!

  • LOL, Just like making french Fries. Cool Machine!

  • could you angle the shoots and load into the back of a pickup? That would be handy ,

  • LOLO funny though, if you pull the wrong lever well standing on the lift, you go for a nice header LOL

  • @arnoldcustom

Ya that would not be a good thing. we have changed the valves so they are back to back so you dont get them confused. Check out the rest of my videos you'll see the new valve design, its a lot safer,

  • It would be nice to be on that "stand" and turn that other slide. :D

  • I like it ;-)

  • do you sell the blueprints or you just offer the splitter to buy

  • i like it but it seems like is a little wk about mid to end of video and red oke is eazy. dose it have 3.5 or 4 hp motor.its looks easy to use and safe i would have np leting my kids run this

  • dual action hydraulic ram i like it most .

  • safety and smooth this is best not like other cow boys one not like killing yourself one great thanks

  • @joshlarrabee 10,000 for what? For God's sake there is nothing to it!!!!

  • that is awesome

  • The best designed and made splitter on Youtube! Great job!

  • The music like the log splitter, very sophisticated and stylish. Jazz requires musical maturaty to appreciate. a one man operation, awsome nice thanks for the upload.

  • the orcs on lord of the rings would have killed for this thing

  • Nice.

  • Excellent job,now wheres my welder...

  • grate piece of work well done lad

  • grate piece of work well done

  • @joshlarrabee. nice its ashame your not in the uk i would love one of these.... do you do a static version?

  • how much is this machine to buy????????

  • Like the design! With a nicely staged wood pile like in the video, how many cords can you split per day of say pine?... I know it depends, but just a rough estimate.

    Thanks!

  • @budcampo It will splitt about 2 cords per hour so in a good day you could do 8-10 cords

  • hey boy, you did a good job!

  • Hello!

    Great machine...

    what diameter has the cylinder?

what diameter has the piston rod?

which pressure is in the hydraulic- system?

are there two hydraulic-cylinders mountet crosswise?

  • It looks like a great machine. My only concern is that the operator appears to be standing on the lift during split operations. A little dangerous isn't it?

  • @mueckenhoeffer Just don't raise the lift while on it and you will be ok.

  • If you don't like the music hit the mute button. I kinda like the music. Don't sweat the small stuff. Look at what this machine can do. I bought the larger splitter. I have a little over 40 hours on it. I have split all of my wood and am looking for a supplier to supply me with logs. Josh your splitter rocks and so does Jim Beam And Good Green.

  • I would like to make one of those using a gravely two wheel tractor as the power source. And YES that music sucks!!!! Hank Williams Country Boy Can survive is a much better choice to me

  • you must be kidding. it is 2010. you don't have a website? YIKES! also, absolutely horrible music. at least part of the vid people want to hear the machine.

  • @kenfo0 Well i apologize for the music I had (country boy) by Alan Jackson and (sweet home Alabama) for the original movie but went to upload it to youtube they would not let me use the music,so i got that song from you tube cuz it was the same length as my video!!!!!!!! I do have a website Its just not done, I will be getting that done soon I hope. Ive just been to busy building splitters..

  • @joshlarrabee I like your approach to the machine. One issue is a way to move the split wood back to a single pt. When you get chance, you should voice over the vid and explain operating parameters, warranty, options and price. Good luck to you!

  • I totally agree with kenfoO whats the noise barrier like otherwise I give it a 10/10 cher bro.

  • splitter win,music fail..

  • i like the design, but dont like the limited exact log length. im also wondering about crotches?

  • Cool splitter. ! ridiculous music.

  • Josh just delivered my new T-24 splitter. This thing is unreal. I ran it for 4 hours today. It's built tough. Splits exactly as his video shows. Split's up to 26" dia 24" long. Lift is same side as the operator, Comfortable work height, perfect size firewood on each pass (unlike w/conventional 2,4,6,8 way wedges which you have to resplit most of the time), splits both directions, wood is easy to handle laying flat on the table. No other splitter like it. In Florence, SC if you want to see it.

  • GOOD MUSIC

  • I bought the bigger 24 inch splitter this past spring 2010. We split 300-500 cord of hardwood per year. This splitter is insane!! I am 100% satisfied. I have been in the tree service, sawmill, and firewood business for over 20 years. This is hands down the most efficient and productive splitter I have used. Great design and built tough. Josh Larrabee is a pleasure to work with too.

  • Whats the largest diameter you can split with this model?

  • @jjbiz007 It has a 26 inch table wedge but it will do slightly bigger than 26 inch logs

  • What size motor and hydraulics?

  • @MrLeonard55 The model in the video has a 13 hp Honda with a 22 gpm pump

and it has a 5x18 inch ram.. 29 tons on the out stroke and 26 ton on the in stroke.. We can also build them with a 18 hp Honda and 28 gpm pump.

  • the one the video is 9,500.00 new and i have a 24 inch stroke splitter with a bigger engine and pump for 11,500.00

  • how much?

  • Have you ever jammed wood in the squares? Are the squares replaceable or do you have to rebuild them in place?

  • @john51880 The cube wedges can be unbolted from the machine and can put any size wedges on there that you want. No, the wood does not get get jammed in the wedges. we can build wedges that have one to four cutting edges in it, so it will make 2, 3, 4 or 5 cubes in one stroke.

  • @joshlarrabee It looks tank tough! Thanks!

  • Slick, but I'd love to see a video of it splitting some wood with knots.

  • @SmithFarmTilton It splits knots just fine. I'll get some more video of it splitting knots and some Y logs. The splitter was made for splitting nice stackable wood fast with the least amount of effort. The Y's and ugly knots just don't make nice chunks....

  • The whole system is trailer mounted, so you can continuously back into the pile of wood, so you never get stuck or buried with split wood, leaving you free to pull away at any time. The chutes on both sides fold up for storage or transport.

  • It is a whole new way to split wood more easily and more efficiently. Less wear and tear on the body is better. You could split wood all day like that!
