Let me just put some facts straight.

Although the ps3 has 9 cell processor(not cores), these are equivalent to a an overclocked pentium dual. Next a ps3 is only built for gaming and a pc is also built for high end tasks. The ps3 only has 512 mb,pcs have usually 4 gb of total ram. Nvidia said their rsk is equivalent of one 7500gt(costs only 40 pound or 50 usd) which shows you that a gaming pc under 800 usd or 600 quid well definitely outperform a ps3 in gaming and everything else

PlayStation 3 has a CELL Processor that consists of 9 TOTAL cores. 1 Is a PPE, a "managing" core, the others are. SPEs, they're really Vertex processors. There are 8 SPEs 1 is disabled for higher manufacture output. 1 is reserved for the OS always. The rest is for the developers.

The architecture is completely different than Intel's X86, because it's a PowerPC CPU.

Have you seen the fucking benchmakrs where the CELL beat the i7 in video encoding?

it totally depends on how much money u spend on ur pc. my friend spend like 800 euros just on his graphics card, and the quality was way better than ps3, but if've got a budget gaming pc about 800 quids like mine then ps3 is better.

I have this CPU the Q9400 overclocks great. With out messing with the voltages I got her up to 3.4 GHz.. I ran prime95 for 9 hours and was stable. I have water cooling so at idle i get 21 degrees celsius at full load 29 degrees celsius which is not bad. I get 45 FPS in Crysis and around 200 in Call of duty World at war.
