  • gooble-di-goop

  • @Radi0header i understand what your saying, but unfortunately similar is a comparable word :P

  • thom is so brilliantly sexy here

  • although a fun drinking game you can play with mtv is you drink every time you see a proactive commercial...after an hour or two youll be in the toilet...

  • ya that makes sense about mtv...all they play now is rap crap...shitty alternative rock bands(paramore)...and r and b...which isnt r and b anymore because r and b stands for RYTHEM and BLUES! and usher doesn't have either one of them...

  • @stereosanctity7 In 1960's and 1970's r&b stood for Rhythm & Blues, now it stands for Rap & Bitches

  • @PawelKosinsky ya its like the record companies have no taste in music anymore, or ppl don't...or both? its a crazy time for music...crazy as in bad...we're in a world where justin bieber gets nominated for a grammy...sad isnt it? but I believe something cool could happen soon with music...idk what but something...

  • @Radi0header I will compare myself to him. I am him with less talent.

  • MTV used to be quite bad but tolerable, now it's horrendous..

  • I dunno, gotta disagree with thommy here. When kids cuss at the top of their lungs back and forth at each other I can't help but judge them for it.

  • Anyone else get a bit hard when he said "I might be wrong"?

  • @4f7u6c1k i did..not gonna lie

  • MTV = Bullshit Entertainment

    Radiohead = Music

  • The first album I ever bought was Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins, I was 4 years old. The day after buying that album I took it into preschool and asked the teachers to play it. After hearing 20 seconds of Cherub Rock they turned it off an called my parents.

My mum would use Kid A to put me to sleep on long car trips. Now that I'm older I have continued to love this music and I play guitar and drums. I wouldn't be playing and creating music now if it weren't for people like Thom Yorke.

  • @drummerheaven

you bought an album when you were 4?

  • Thom Yorke > MTV

  • thom is a dude

  • Young teens do not have half a brain these days, if they appreciate the right things and spend their time on things that have meaning and that they are passionate about. And I'm almost a young teen and listen to Thom Yorke and Radiohead - I have for almost 2 years, so some of us have appreciated good music without the media telling us too.

  • You're an exception though. Most teens that I've socialized with gobble down every last drop of the mind-numbing shit that mainstream media feeds them.

  • You're right, this Annaa97 girl is an exception... teens listen to and watch what the mainstream media feeds them without having the ability to use their own minds. And it's not their faults, they're just not encouraged by anyone to search for quality material in the entertainment world.

  • I guess Im another exception then, as Im 13 and listen to so called "alternative" music such as Radiohead and Bjork despite the mainstream meadia depriving me of it. I suppose Im extremely lucky to have found this kind of music. But you have to understand, its not that my peers are mostly just nonsencical twats, its the media that makes them that way most of the time.

  • I understand. They're just kids trying to fit in, it's perfectly normal. It's if they grow up to be conformist sheeple, then it becomes a problem.

  • Annaa97, he's right, you are just one of a few girls your age who even know what meaninful forms of entertainment are. Most girls your age, especially in American, have never been introduced to meaningful music.

  • I admit I do listen to some mainstream music, to see if there is a few promising songs from it - though I've found this only happens rarely. That's why I listen to 'alternative' music which has actual depth, I am open to many genres of music and enjoy the art of the creation and presentation of it.

  • I just saw that you are in Canada... the teens were are talking about are mostly in America... there is nobody like you in America as far as music taste at your age, ha ha.

  • @mrscry haha Im from France, music taste isnt as bad there. But I had some friends from canada who lived in france (coupe with two teenage children) and there the typical right wing pentacostal christians who spend there life listening to what they call rock but its really christian "coke advert" poppy mainstream garbage.

  • MTV isn't MTV anymore. It's fucking stupid. Thom would give the channel a reason to be watched but the channel seems to be for young teens who don't have more than half a brain these days.

  • agreed

  • @Meta1Head91 agreed. MTV needs to change its name to RTV( reality television) which is all it seems to put on these days. honestly the only time you can hear music is from 4am to like 9am and even then its just poppy radio bullshit

  • @Meta1Head91 Even MTV2 shows sitcoms.

  • @Meta1Head91 There are exceptions :) Me!

  • "i dont think we fit the mold anymore"

  • he was on the sonny rollins show to promote the eraser so maybe...2006?

  • is this old?

  • about 2007 i think
