The economy was showing very little yearly growth until Clinton took office. During his 8 years in office, our economy blossomed. People complained that Clinton raised taxes, but it certainly seemed to help our economy. It seems like people don't understand that taxes fund schools, public works and other government programs that benefit the public. They complain that there's not enough funding for those yet they aren't willing to pay the price to improve it.
