  • the strumming feels really stiff. like your right arm isn't cooperating. and the strumming is overdone.. like too rough. If you played it a little more controlled and gently I'd be able to decipher it better.

  • thanks muchly dude !

no i have a personal haberdashery the tiedyes my shirts and sheets, towels car upholstery etc.

  • just kidding...;o)

  • Is that a Hartke amp I see in the background?

  • yup its a 15w practice bass amp.. its sitting on top of a 180w peavey TNT amp. i use them in tandem for my vintage fender bass with active electronics.

  • Holy crap! man I bet that peavy's loud as hell! I've got a 50 watt Johnson amplification amp and any more than 3 on the volume and the neighbor calls the cops.

  • well i gotta have something to cut thru the Marshall guitar amp 80W per channel, (one tube, one solid state). i live in the everglades, i feed the uncooperative neighbors to the gators ;o)

  • hahah kickass! I'd bust my ass to learn Eruption if I lived out there.

  • sound pretty awesome...best grateful deadful cover i could find on here

  • cool man thanks for the great compliment ;o)

  • oh yeah one question .. is this tuning what used to be calledor from the dad fad era ? of the dropped tuning. or is that another tuning?

  • close. its double dropped D. from standard tuning just drop the 1st and 6th strings from E to D. you end up with dadgbd.

dadf#ad is open Dmaj, which i use a lot too.

  • wow... love the playing strat.

  • appreciate it man ;o)

  • dead head for ever man. too bad i was born in that era. awsome. youre great. peace.

    peace.

  • how bout sugar mag ?

  • That would be great :D one of my favorites

  • there is a lot of music to be played...inspiration, move me brightly...been talkin to my bro in canada (stealurface76)about doing jackstraw or sugar mag together...need the harmonies!

  • i'd love to do the harmonies on this one...pretty much any dead or csny ...or any classic rock song i'm in...if its just that easy to record over top we'll have to send sone vids to each other and see what we can do

  • whatever inspires ya jesse, i am not talented at harmonies, i support whichever songs you choose. you certainly have my blessing to use any of my vids. i will send you my email address so we can communicate more easily and we can trade songlists..

  • sounds good man..god knows theres tons of songs...what about find the cost of freedom...csny?

  • Hey, great song, and nicely covered.

    Peace

  • thanks dude ,ya got good taste ;o)

  • Great! youve got an awesome voice, and can't say you play bad either! 5 stars

  • thanx very much

  • bro yer awesome...instant fan

  • great cover. wanna tab out that intro for us?

  • thanx....sorry, i neither read nor write tablature or notation. tuning is DadgbD. the verse is dcgd x 2,then fcfcd for the refrain. rinse and repeat. (caution: you may have to look up the chord shapes for DadgbD theyre a bit different)

  • Are you using standard tuning, or a drop-D tuning, or.. ? Thanks again.

  • double dropped D.... the 1st and 6th string are both dropped from E to D. try it , its fun!

  • Excellent stuff! You did Jerry Proud :)

  • wow fast but very well done.

  • thank you. ya know what it is , it was my first vid with my new taylor and the song just bounced off of the guitar by itself, quite rapidly. it was all i could do to contain the damn thing!! ;O)

  • Man, sounds like you're channeling Jerry! Love the sound..

  • hey man you got a great voice. you sound almost like jerry. great!

  • thank you ...i sure miss captain trips...

  • thanx y'all !

  • Not into Grateful dead but this is good!

  • Awesome! Very cool dropped D. Sweet axe, Rock On!

  • dude slow down!!!!

  • you should listen to golden gate studios ver. of this song! awesome! the dead anno 1965

  • i am actually used to playing it more like Europe'72

  • actually it sounds good. I'm just not used to the fast version. My band and i always played it a bit slower.

  • thanx mike. this works better for me on my solo gigs with the implied bass and upbeat feel. i love the slower version , too.

  • love that dropped D tuning!
