in my heart, i find it hard to believe that all the songs by johnny still remind me of one person..........50 years later.....though not together, i love her still....time has found us apart but i have the memories of morro bay and her, Lana............smiles, thanks johnny............

Our gift from God, for all the world to treasure. I've never heard a more beautiful singer in all my life. What a gem. I was lucky enough to have met Johnny Mathis for a quick picture..he even kissed me.. He even autographed that enlarged photo (16 x 20 I blew it up), 10 years later...very eloquently I might add. I love him so.

@mimibella12 - you're very welcome- i love this song (i say that so much!)- it was unknown to me before i heard Johnny sing it-. He brings such elegance and heart to these songs by the Bergmans and Legrand. He is the absolute perfect person to express their artistry- - a combined symphony by all of them. Enjoy.

The original 'After the Rain' can be found on "The Global Master's" double cd. Readily available and a real treat as it includes 24 of JM's Mercury recording. Far too few but each one a gem.

Interestingly, JM recorded another 'After the Rain' which is a totally different song during his days at Mercury Records. This one is most certainly the more poignant of the two recordings.

@maureen1938 - so glad you like it- you're welcome- I had never heard it before this CD- which I love! I could easily create a video for each of these songs- because the way Johnny sings them on this album- is different than the way he has sung (some ) of these before- I think it was the collaboration with the Bergman's and Michel LeGrand- who orchestrations are throughout. Ah, the collaboration of Legrand/Bergman and Mathis. Exquisite.

Johnny's storytelling is always the bedtime tale lulling us to dreamland. He reconnects us to the magic of imagination ~ too precious a gift never meant to be left behind at childhood's door. Forever young.

one of my all time favourite albums, the critics hated it,. this was a marriage made in heaven. johnny lives the lyric, making listening an almost religeous experience. this was one of the best tracks. thank you for posting this.

@johneunson - Religious experience- what a great way to express it- in those soft gentle 'rain mist' moments of song, it does have a spiritual quality. Amazing CD- and - well- what do critics know. They take themselves too seriously sometimes- I think. The real 'appreciators' are the fans- and many loved this CD-. It can be purchased as a CD or individual songs by MP3- but why have 'some' when you can have 'all'??? Thanks so much- you're very welcome.
