Man, I had no idea he ever went up to A5. I thought the Learning to Live F# was the highest.
What's the big deal about Blind Faith, though? And Lifting Shadows off a Dream isn't exactly amazing either. It would make much more sense to put songs like "Under a Glass Moon", "Another Day", or "Voices" in their place. Or, to contrast the rest by showing his lower side, you could have put "Lie". "Voices" would have also worked there too.
I've never said this was a video showing his highest notes. I think blind faith and lifting shadows have great vocal melodies and the harmonies in lifting shadows gives me goosebumps - hence vocal moments ;)
It seems like there's a very elite group of people that believe that his voice actually is as incredible as it is. "Live At The Marquee" is easily his best vocal performance (mostly because it was prior vocal rupture). That's why Metrop sounds so good.
Even if it isn't what used to be (I will admit that)it is in fact better than allot of people make it out to be... Consider a good number of his highest notes were in this Decade.
He managed some higher notes recently like a G5 in a warsaw performance of Lines in the sand, and G#5 in Cemetery gates... though htat one was a bit sour. watch?v=SQdB2_hVKzQ&feature=related this one however is not 3:17
In the Chaos in motion DVD, it is an F5...too bad the A didn't get the DVD release...but still F5 great for Present day James, he also does the sustained D quite good too.
Ya. I was impressed with the note on the DVD, but slightly disappointed that it wasn't his big note.
Seems F5 is Labrie's most reliable high note these days. Just a half step below the images and words days. If he can just get up to a G5 I think I'll be happy with him again.
Yeah he was sooo unbelivebly good, than had a long period of mixed quality performances, and now he is fucking back!! Almost as good as when he was young. Even if I thinks that the new DVD only displays the worst parts of he´s voice.
How can someone say that he is not a great singer?!?!?!?!FANTASTIC

Amazing. I saw DT twice, here in Portugal, but it wasn't as good as "Live at the Marquee" :p Anyway, two of the best shows I've ever seen.

I'm so sorry for him. If it wasn't for that vocal rupture, he would get far more positive reactions to his vocal ability.

It's those pills he holds up on the christmas fan club vid and says, "see these...these are what makes me the man that I am."

And scarred. 2:38-2:52 and 5:14-6:26

To avoid confusion I am not saying the second one is high, simply a good vocal moment.

Thats an A5.
Incidentally, its the only other A5 I've heard Labrie sing since the short one from "a fortune in lies" off "live at the marquee"
That one is actually difficult to tell its an A5 unless you listen very closely though. The one from lines in the sand is perfect.
