I don't really follow Rally America because the competition is not as heated, and there's not as much action as the WRC, but I will say, I LOVE it because it's so independent. I'd love to see the series grown into a big sport.

@livebest2000 I used to think that too, don't get me wrong, I think Block is an underrated driver. But watch the WRC, he is out of his league in that aspect. Now it seems like all he does is crash that Ford every month in either event.

really Ken Block is not that good, he's not even comparable to j-wrc drivers. he needs more challenging courses. Eventually he'll get better, but he'll probably retire before he does.

@muffinsmans from an european point of view, i would say he is something like a average national championship driver. but he has the cash to get the ride in the wrc so good for him. he still attracts a lot of attention because of his smart marketing with his crazy videos so respect. but surely in the future better drivers will come from the US

You guys are doing a great job on these recaps, keep it up! Hopefully next year you'll have some extra cash and can make them longer with more road footage and some incar from the leaders (or anyone else willing to turn over in car to you guys).

@moaski As much as I love Subaru, Ford is the reason Block is participating in the WRC. WRC > Rally America

@anthonyd5189 Agreed...Subaru has definitely dropped the ball when they dropped out of the WRC. That's the equivalent to Ferrari dropping out of F1.

It's my opinion that Block needs to master Rally America before he can be competitive internationally.

You're right about the new regulations. It's bullshit that the vehicle models don't need to have the characteristics of the WRC car, (i.e., Peugeot 206, 307, Citroën Xsara and Škoda Fabia), which have no road going production model with a turbocharged engine or four wheel drive...UNLIKE SUBARU!!!

WRC is going the way of NASCAR, which used to race "stock cars" that were based on actual production cars.

@lostburro Are you kidding me? Go back over the last 3 years of the series and tell me how many times Pastrana has DNF'd due to a wreck or mech failure. I can tell you it's far less than Ken. If anything, Pastrana pulled a Block at NEFR.
