They're usually serious weightlifters or elite level athletes. The one girl I beat was an ex bodybuilder, but she did not seem to know how to put her muscles into it:-)

I think that women have a much higher tolerance for pain than we men do...I mean, they are the ones that have to go through the excruciating pain of childbirth. So this probably explains why they beat men at armwrestling.
While I completely believe that this woman honestly beat these men, I have always had a hard time with this contention that women have a higher pain tolerance. I'm not buying the childbirth argument. They bear the pain because there is no choice. Men, by virtue of biology, have no opportunity to show they can "bear" the pain of childbirth. Does your theory explain why most women lifting weights avoid training to muscular failure far more than men?
