  • Well, this is very nice video and I'm from Malaysia.

  • @lagodaxnian oh okay! Thanks anyway ! :) Gr8 vids !

  • Indonesia has more than 1128 Ethnics group, why you show few photos of em ?

  • @djachsan because of time limit in youtube, while there's so many austronesians in this world..

  • kita serumpun...apa khabar saudara2 austronesian yang lain..

  • hey i know those people at 09:17, they're from the island next to where i live in Fiji!...talofa lasi!

  • lol, the guy at 6:04 he clearly is caucasian!

  • @AlternativeBT most of guy in tahiti (french polynesia) is mixed poly-french..thats why he looks like caucasian..

  • alot of face are familiar, but alot of face in the picture start from tahiti is mixed with caucasian, and some even looks 100% caucasian (ie spanish, italian)

  • @AlternativeBT austronesian mixed westerner almost looks italian or southern europe, even looks like latin american..

  • @nesianification i recommend you to watch this video til' the end...

  • Greeting my austronesian brothers and sisters :) I am from indonesian...I Think now I understand a little bit bout austronesian

  • Can anyone PLS tell me the name of the first song?? BTW I'm of austronesian desent :)

  • @djpx49 sei ma le losa by Tevaka

  • manolosonok ide ey gyesorot ni astrownesyan.(I agree that they speak austronesian)

  • The Austronesian peoples have colonized lands stretching from Madagascar to the east and as far west as Rapa Nui (Easter Island), which is just under 200 miles off the coast of South America, spanning more than half the worlds circumference. Far north as Taiwan and as far south as New Zealand for hundreds, if not thousands of years before the first white or any other race or nation had ever ventured more than a few hundred miles from their own coastlines. A great people indeed!

  • So are early Korean and Japanese language speakers!

  • Small world , large family, spread far distances.......Talofa

  • Fiji is also a austronesian speaking nation. You forgot to include Fiji here either way In Polynesia or Melanesia.....Hhmmm

  • @22871987 i'm sorry..yes fiji is include..

  • @NirinaGasikara Maybe that's the main reason Thais don't want to be called Austronesians although they look similar to us. Thais are the poops of the Austronesians. LOL!

  • these people are all so beautiful! :)

  • In Indonesian Language "Mahal Kita" it means "We're Expensive"

But in Pilipino "Mahal Kita" means " I Love You" :D

  • @TheMichaelArchie lol mahal also means expensive in filipino :P

  • @TheMichaelArchie but in our visayan dialect (which i speak)..."mahal" means expensive..."kita" means US and/ or WE...so in visayan it literally means..."we are expensive"...hehe...so there you have it...BTW visayas is a group of islands in the central part of the philippines... hello distant cousin..hehe

  • @TheMichaelArchie Yes! Indonesian "kita" is cognate with Pilipino "tayo". But "mahal" means "dear" in both languages.

  • @TheMichaelArchie Indeed :) But in other Philippine languages, it also means "we're expressive" :)

  • @TheMichaelArchie in Pilipino, Mahal also means "expensive" or "Love"

  • @DatuKampilan there is no such language called "pilipino" (that's what the philippine government officially calls Tagalog nowadays). if you are to call Tagalog "Filipino/Pilipino", then that just dismisses the other languages of the philippines. keep that in mind.

  • @PignoyPride you are misleading , your name states that we should not believe what u saying

  • @NirinaGasikara: in Filipino too, tae! haha

  • I come from PNG, and always hated it when people said dat we spoke like tongans or sounded like asian or stuff....now I know dat it was part of the austronesian dialect! Wow!!!

  • However, what we know is that sometime in the past, some people crossed the indian ocean with boats - which have not been found - and went back and forth - by using wind - between Asia and this island located off of Africa. However, no physical proffs have been found however studies regarding for purpose of genetic comparisons, language comparison have been conudcted and were found to suggest that there seems to be a highly probable familiarity between Indonesians and the Merina of Madagascar.

  • Indonesian is DAIC descent (Austro-tai), because DNA and their cultures are very close to Thailand and Vietnam. Recent studies have revealed the some East Indonesia is the Austronesian.sorry I'm not a racist but I'm talking about the real Indonesia.

  • we all came from the same ancestors - the AUSTRONESIAN RACE -

    -Madagascar

-the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, some people of vietnam and cambodia - the whole Pacific islands!

if u look back in the history before those countries were colonized they belong to the group of people called the AUSTRONESIAN!

  • @vanLzjk I am from Madagascar myself and learned in HS that M/scar has seen the arrival of navigators many centuries ago, apparently from some parts of Sumatra, malaysia, Java and Borneo. Those people are now called the 'Merina' and occupy the central high plateau of the island of Madagascar. The remaining parts are being occupied by other ethnic groups originating from mainly Africa.

The interesting part is that no one knows for sure When, nor why, nor How 'merina' ancestors reached M/scar

  • Austronesian People ( DNA ) = Filipina, micronesian, polynesian, malaysian penisula, hawai, aborigin taiwan, East indonesians, moluccan.-

    ^^

Daic peoples ( DNA ) : thais, Indonesians, Viets, Laos, north/south chinese, kamboja, east malaysian,-

    ^^

    Grup Language ( Austronesina ) : Indonesia,filipina, malaysia,south pacifik, hawai, maori, micronesian, polynesian,east timor.-

  • @gameplayerucool2 I am Malay ethnic from Malaysia, you will amazed to know that some Malaysian and Indonesia language has lots of similarity with Hawaiian native, you can found in Numbers, in basic things etc.

  • filipino is pacific islanders thought

  • @NirinaGasikara Bantu migration actually was not from West Africa to East Africa, hon. Our traditions in the african interior consistently say we traveled into Africa from the EAST/Northeast—not vice versa.

East in Africa is the sacred direction.

Be careful what you claim. Don't just parrot incorrect data of our histories fabricated by the western world. We also have always had the "Wazimba/Vasimba" ethnic group in the mainland. V and W are often interchangeable.

  • what a beautiful people!

  • @gameplayerucool2 errmm cuz they're austronesian.. =)

  • Guahan No Place Like Home :'( Mariana Islands Tano I Man Chamorro. Love To All Micronesia <3

  • Guahan No Place Like Home :'( Marina Islands Tano I Man Chamorro. Love To All Micronesia <3

  • Tawianese similar to Borneoan and Filipinos culture!

  • Hey Lax, can you tell me who we are according to the Holy Bible - Noah had 3 sons - Shem, Ham and Japheth - in isaiah it talks about polynesians. but do you have any history in this area. - hope to hear from you, i enjoy the vids very much.

  • Philippines! ;D

  • Thanks for sharing this to the world. Aloha

  • Also why a ( Lemurian-Mu ) theory of an advanced Culture is because in Ancient World of course before Planes, Boats were advanced technology to trade etc, and to navigate had to read the stars to navigate connecting the sailers to the 3rd eye ,more and Star reading with is forcasting the seasons the mansoons upcoming weather etc

  • Lemuria ( Mu ) makes sense ,if after the melt of the ice age's Polar Ice caps, that could have created a Flood of rising sea level covering Land mass,, Madagascar all the way to Easter Islands I guess ,Possibly reached America Coast, Also in ancient Culture and Ancient Times , any culture focused around Sea Craft is advanced It is a Pre-Mason Skill Technology ,I My Boats Sail is Lighter -faster, its Advanced CIvilization

  • Don't kno wT u people are talking bout austroneasian but I just kno I'm from the pacific part of Micronesia PNI island n proud of my culture drink kava dance hula swim on the beach drink coconut get drunk n chahoooooooooooooooo n fight 100% PNI

  • You people refer Polynesia as a whole Polynesia is a group of island each island got they own language there not all the same. So don't say the Polynesian language is this n that which island u need b specific??

  • Austronesian language really all I kno is I speak my language that's it n I'm a pacific islander...... Just joking proud to b part of the austronesian familey we should all get together n have party

  • Like the video, though, I'm I the only one who noticed the melanesians get quickly skimmed over towards the end?

  • it would have been nice if Austronesia is one single country!

  • @NirinaGasikara in sugbuanon language (philippines) we have prefixes like ma, mo, mi, ni, na . Ma & mo indicates future, mi, ni, na past. example: moapil = to join, niapil = had joined, matulog = to sleep, natulog = had slept. Pa or paka is another prefix that we use, ex: pakatuga = to let it sleep, pabuangbuang = to become foolish, pasakay = to give a ride. Mag & nag are prefixes that joins pa & paka to indicate past & future ex : magpakahilom = to be silent, nagpakahilom = had been silent.

  • @NirinaGasikara in the Philippines too poop is ta-e both bisaya and tagalog.

  • indonesia is the biggest austronesian country in the world

  • What tribe or people does that tribal costume man at 1:34 belong to?

  • @gpl992 dayak people i guess..

  • The last part of the vid are real austronesianese IMO from Micronesia onwards. They look so pure.

  • The last part of the vid are real austronesianese IMO..

  • I noticed in the last part of the vid are more like it.

  • I think a pure Austronesian is extremely good looking dark brown and big boned. Some of these vids are Chinese mixed Austros IMO.

  • There is a small town called "Macassar" in South Africa.

"Macassar" is the capital city of "South Sulawesi" province in Indonesia.

    They're closely tied each other.

There is a monument to commemorate "Syeikh Yusuf", a descendant of the "Kingdom of Gowa", "South Sulawesi", who exiled by the Dutch colonist to the "Cape of Good Hope", South Africa via Sri Lanka (Ceylone island) ..

He is the founder of the Muslim "Cape Malay" community in South Africa.

  • i dont think cambodian is autronesian spaeking language

  • @EDEBOYZ if you means here is khmer, so they do not speak in the Austronesian language because what i mean here is the Cham people and some Cambodian community is the Cham people, then some areas in Cambodia speak in Austronesian languages..

  • @lagodaxnian ok i c

  • @lagodaxnian but the scientists had classified which lauguage belong to what group which its accurate, im speak austronesian language family ,,maylayo, indonisia, dats where my regional encestor were came from back bak in the century ,,,,

  • @lagodaxnian: Aldo ..majority of people in indonesians are of daic descent , study 2010 Austronesian found in indonesia only <20% , and papua melanesia 8% found in papua , maluku.

daic indonesia come from northem china/ thai maindlain..Majority DNA indonesia more close to viet, Tai, lao, northem china than to filipina/ pacifil peoples.

indonesian related to austronesian espessialy to linguistk/ bahasa.

  • @lagodaxnian

not only in cambodia, but same part of vietnam, especially in south part of vietnam.

  • @lagodaxnian cham are no where related to Khmer people! we khmers are from Tibet region along with our Mon brothers and sisters of burma! we are austro-asiatic!!

  • @shitnamese401 i never said that khmer and cham are related..cham people is indigenous people of viet nam..they move to south and reach cambodia after southern chinese tribe (including tibetan) invaded their land..cham is the true people of indochina..

  • @EDEBOYZ ye there are Austro-Asiatic Mon-Khmer.They're similar to Austronesian future more then Thai/viet who are came fom china or rejected Chinese race who migrate mass population to Khmer land..Khmer-Mon language some time sound like Malays.Khmer-Mon and Austronesian face are also same in include culture and architecture! cham are controversy,my opinion CHAM are Mon-Khmer..even they similar to Malayan Hinduism to Islam but they are not Austronesian i hope scientist can classified it back!

  • @sayyid14 what the hell! khmer-mon people are not the same as austronesian people! i'm khmer and i can tell you we look totally different from you guys! khmer-mon share some similar facial feature because of the thousands of years of intermixing with your Asutronesian race of course they will look the same! but many mon-khmer still have our original Tibet look! i even have proof to back up where my ancestors came from! we are central asiatic people!

  • @EDEBOYZ majority in Cambodia is considered as Indo-China people, but there are ethnic group calls Cham people, they are Austronesia. When they came to my country Malaysia, they claim themselves as Malay.

  • @snoiprocs16 did u know in vietnam there are 5 groups who speakin Malayo-Polynesian branch of the Austronesian language family. vietnamese people consider them as an ethnic minorities. they are came from indonesia, we i mean like myself have heard old people telling story where our people cam from and how we end up in vietnam present? its was a conflicts between the king and the rebellions , the relions lost the fight so they have no where to hiding so they they rode the boat fled to vietnam

  • @snoiprocs16

    they are malay.

  • @snoiprocs16 i think it's bettr if the cham go live in malaysia because they are related to you guys and indonesian people! there are too many khmers that are mix with your austronesian people that is why some khmer look like malay people! but we know who we are and where we came from! we are central Asian people from tibet highlands!

  • @shitnamese401 ur people must go back to tibet not the cham.indochina is the true cham's land..

  • @lagodaxnian We would love to go back to Tibet! Our first ancestors who built Angkor Wat came from Tibet and then a mass migration occur later on in the centuries! People just don't know about us Austro-Asiatic people yet!

  • @EDEBOYZ They r not Khmer people, they r Cham peoples and when the Champa kingdom was distroy by Vietnamese, they went to Cambodia, they speak Melayu Polynesian language

  • SALAM TO ALL MY AUSTRONESIAN BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Darkforrest408 Salam is not Austronesian, it is Arabic in middle east..speak Austronesian is more appropriate..or i eat you.

  • we also in philippines. we are a bisayan people tribe speak like a malay word like name-ngalan,two-duha,people-tao,day-adlaw.... and what is your name= unsay imung ngalan???? same bit sound as duson tribes..........

  • @NirinaGasikara wow I think there are a few similarities between my language (Dusun, from North Borneo) and malagasy such as day=tadau, name=ngaran, people=tulun, two=duo. "what is your name" is "isai ngaran nu?" in Dusun which sounds a bit like "Iza no anaranao?" in Malagasy

  • @drakl0r we have a little bit thesame language!!! in bisayan people_ in philippines day=adlaw, name=ngalan, people=tawu, two=duha (what is your name is unsay imung ngalan) which is thesame as the malay language people!!!!!

  • @drakl0r kewl....dat nice...in kayan now...name=aran...similar as ngaran....

  • @drakl0r kewl....dat nice...in kayan now...name=aran...similar as ngaran....

  • @drakl0r kewl....dat nice...Kayan now...from Central Borneo...

    name=aran..

    day=dau two=du'ak  people=kulunan

  • @drakl0r kewl....dat nice...Kayan now...from Central Borneo...

    name=aran..

    day=dau two=du'ak people=kulunan

  • @NirinaGasikara well, I think you are right, Malagasy people is Hybrid of Africa and Astronesia, your singing is great, and looking at your face, I got the image impression that mixing Ethiopia and Indonesia, Scientist say, we are all comes from Africa, amazing route and root, appear beautiful Variant..

  • the scientific world can say anything and everythign and claimed it as FACTS!!! if you're not from any of the Austronesian clutures don't make any assumptions even though you have studied from the damn books... i say born into and grow up in the culture is better than assumptions... ua rau kaimate a'ho mihimihi i te pakeha matemate i runga puka a oe!

maururu or thanks for sharing this vid lagodaxian from your brother in polynesia.

  • Madagascar was inhabited by austronesians the same time white people inhabited the americas

  • @islandwarrior16 thats right. austronesians - more specifically indonesians, not africans. its funny because the blacks did that in melanesia...polynesians were chased out from fiji islands. austronesians first inhabited fiji islands then got taken over from unknown african group. i dont know where they came from. we were chased or eaten by blacks...maybe the indonesians from madagascar brought the africans back to indonesia and polynesia....either way...they can go back to Africa.

  • :( i sat through the whole 10 minutes, and not once did i see fiji..

  • @IanSaysWhat i'm so sorry,i forgot... this because of the limited duration..i know that Fiji Rotuma is a part of Polynesian..

  • In Taiwan, there are more tribes and racial differences than the photos shown here. I have seen native Formosans from looking like East Asian to looking like Maori physically.

  • @bctvanw Thank you..I'm very understand about this, this video is just an example and a few human characters in this video is also just an example, would be very complicated if i have to store all kinds of tribes in Taiwan in this video because of limited duration. We all understand that Taiwanese aborigine are very diverse, therefore the resulting offspring also varied during migration.

  • some tribes more resemble the people of East Asia, as descendants of Dayak in Borneo and several more resemble southeast asian people who have a little dark skin (Brown) but has lean body and and possiblity Taiwanese aborigine who has physics like this are the ancestors of the nation of Malays in the Philippines, Indonesia,Malaysia and Madagascar, and some are physically seems like Polynesian people (possiblity reduced of Polynesian peoples).

  • @NirinaGasikara yes..i ever read that madagascar is uninhabited, before finally inhabited by descendants of malay (first people that inhabited of madagascar).Madagascar is known as the transit area of the ship from Asia to Africa and vice versa.immediately after the settlement of people of malays descent in Madagascar, then also came in waves the Africans from the east coast of Africa which ultimately gave birth to the nation of Malagasy (Mixture Malays and Africans).

  • @lagodaxnian That not trrue the malays aren't the first or native people from madagascar. the first people are from Africa and similair to other east and south african native populations. Africans where once great sea farring people long before the polynesian/malay races.

  • @eradon23 well,i'm not claimed, but at least many history books wrote that...

  • @eradon23 Africans were great sea farming ppl??? LMAO!! YEA FUCKIN RITE!! I dnt know who da heo told u dat bullshiet....but YOU TRIPPIN NIGGA!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @islandapride1 Well, according to Fijian oral history, their ancestors sailed across the Indian & Pacific Oceans several thousand years ago from what is now the East African nation of Tanzania.

  • @NirinaGasikara No..I think the Indonesian people not so racist like that..just because they were black, so nobody malays in Indonesia who want to marry them, it's very wrong ! The fact is actually more and more Malay people (Indonesians), who prefer to marry with people from the eastern regions of Melanesian descent, such as Moluccan/maluku, Papuan and Timorese.

  • why? because many Indonesian people (malays) assume that melanesians are simple, not too many demands, love what they are, and the one thing that Indonesian like from thoese dark-skinned people, because they think black people have very sweet face and not easily bored to be seen.and they are physically very strong, do not be surprised if now in West Papua and Maluku, people no longer have the original face of Melanesia, they seem to have features of malay.

  • I think Indonesian people are not too fussy in choosing a life partner, it is clear that they were not too concerned with skin color, nationality and whether they are good looking or not, they better assess a person's in characters.

  • @NirinaGasikara of course Merina do not have African ancestry, as I mentioned earlier that Merina were 100 % Malay ! India only have an impact on the cultural side with Austronesian peoples in southeast asia, but they are not descendants of Indian (aryan and Dravids descents).Southeast asian are Austronesian in DNA but they open and receive many cultural outside austronesian culture, including Indian and arabs culture.

  • @NirinaGasikara Filipino descents ? lol..you must watch this video to know what exactly the polynesian ancestor :

    watch?v=TAgvZ3T9AWk&feature=related

that is called Express boat theory..

the asian ancestor of polynesian came from Taiwan, not philippines.polynesian is a mixture of asian (austronesian) and melanesian.possible meeting point among the Austronesian people of Taiwan and the Melanesian people happening in Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, or known as the theory of "slow boat"(check google).

  • @NirinaGasikara I think I agree on a second opinion, that the Melanesian people in the same boat with Malay people when they are going towards Madagascar, Melanesian people is very easy to find, no need to papua or to aeta area in the philippines, just to the nearby regions of Java island, that is the island of Timor (including East Timor).Timorese are Melanesian in cultural, but Austronesian in Languages.,and of course, although they are also black but quite different from black African.

  • @NirinaGasikara Indonesian people isn't colonised madagascar,They mingle with the native people living there, and the possibility of mixed marriages, but some of them are not doing mixed marriages, then returned to Indonesia to bring their wives and children to Madagascar and remain there,It is believed to be the ancestors of the Merina, that's why Merina people is 100% Malay descents they don't have african blood.not all Indonesian interested marriage african women, some of them already has wife

  • @NirinaGasikara I think all indigenous people of Borneo (kalimantan) is more closer or related with Austronesian tribes from Taiwan..look at they physics as a whole..they are more "asian" than other Indonesian tribes..they are like 100% Austronesian without mix with other race (melanesians).

  • @NirinaGasikara ok..ok..but 99% source say that malagasy ancestors came from Indonesia,Malaysia and may be Philippines...!!! these 3 nations called as "Nusantarian" before colonized by western countries. i never heard if Polynesian also considered malagasy ancestors.i just check wiki and google the info that polynesian also your ancestors.i mean,if you had the source and other references please send me..

  • @NirinaGasikara Indonesians believes to be the ancestors of the Merina and Merina Kingdom has a cultural affinity with the Kingdom of Majapahit where at that time was centered in East Java (now called Mojokerto).and believe it or not, the people of East Java has the same physical with Polynesian people, physically average height and width of their body above the average height of other malay people in maritime southeast asia.

  • You can check this in various sources including the average height of eastern Javanese are above average height other Indonesian people.Majapahit warrior described in every history books always was depicted as as a large and muscular warrior, so that they can control the entire territory of the ancient Maritime Southeast Asia, up to Thailand and Burma, and because of their greatness, then Majapahit cannot be defeated by mongols forces led by Kubhilai Khan.

  • Majapahit forces also known as the largest maritime forces after the fall of Srivijaya empire (the 1st maritime kingdom in southeast asia) where centered in the eastern part of Sumatra (now Palembang).maritime forces of majapahit kingdom had traveled to Africa under the leadership of "mahapati gajah mada, their ship settled in Madagascar and some of them did not return to southeast asia, they lived there, married with the natives there, had children and they live to die there.

  • @NirinaGasikara and later they are also considered to be people who first traveled to use boats to find new residential places, including finally found Madagascar is carried out in areas where they live, and some of their descendants live there to this day (Malagasy people, including merina).

  • @NirinaGasikara some people of Indonesia also believe that, they believe that they like the afro-asian (this is for Indonesian person who never deny the facts) or in other words, they believe that they are a mix between Austronesian peoples of Taiwan with the Melanesians who previously inhabited the maritime southeast asia before the migration of Austronesian peoples from Taiwan.

  • @NirinaGasikara it was normal .. because madagascar areas closer to the African continent and when they try to connect it to Asia, so they feel do not confident because of their territories are not included in the Asian region.although regional maritime southeast asia is where Merina ancestors originated.

  • @lagodaxnian

thank you very much for the information.

Some believe that the native tribes in northeast India (Nagaland,Assam, Manipur,Chitagong etc) spreading into today's southern China (Yunnan province etc), are related to the East Asian/ South East Asian (particularly Burma).

Some say that they are the lost Mongolian tribes/descendants.

    e.g: Burmese, Tibetans, Bhutanese

Do the origin of the name "Himalaya" Range in Nepal-Tibet border have something to do with the name "Malaya"/"Malay"?

  • @fortunamia yes..they are related with burmese tribes (mongols). and several tribes in burma also related with the tribes in southern Asia, especially with the Dravidian tribes appear in Bangladesh. it is common because Burma in indo-china regions directly adjacent to the bangladesh and eastern part of India.himalaya and malaya has nothing link although having a slightly similar name..that's just coincidence..malay people originated from Taiwan..like opinion from fmoa above..

  • @fortunamia Amerindian tribes has different dna code with polynesian, because polynesian has dna that similarities with Taiwanese aborigine and also with maritime southeast asian (malay,Indonesian and Filipino).Burmese,Tibetans and Bhutanese is Sino-Tibetan family, which means they are in the same family with Han chinese (majority ethnic in China) and other mongols tribes.if you want to know a lot about history in south asia, just search google or find it in wikipedia..

  • Yanomami tribe in Amazon, South America looks similar to Polynesian (Filipino, Borneo island etc).

  • @fortunamia not only with the Polynesian, but some American Indian tribes in South America (Brazil,Argentina,Chile,Uruguay,Peru, etc) have much in similarities with austrronesian tribes in Taiwan and other southeast Asian region.their differences only on the family of languages used, american indian tribes do not speak the Austronesian language.therefore I do not feel surprised and do not blame if there are American Indians who believed that the Austronesian people is their relatives.

  • @fortunamia thats the only they av that are similar are the looks, dna evidence show that polynesians are closely related to southeast asian tribes of taiwan n some in malaysia n nearby islands, the indians in americas av a dna signature that closely related to siberian people,so its 2 different origins, they might look the same, but the dna's of polynesians n indians of americas are not that close, the native of taiwan is believe today as the origin of the polynesian race.

  • why is thailand not part of the austronesia?

  • @axcelheart20 Thai people belong to the family of Austro Asiatic or more commonly known as Tai-Kradai (Daic).Tai-kradai languages are part of the Sino-Tibetan language (mainland China),and this is of course very different to the Austronesian languages family.migration process between Austro Asiatic and Austronesian also different, Austro Asiatic people like Thai, Burmese, Mon-Khmer, and Yue came from southern China who migrated to Indo China, which means still in mainland Asia,

  • whereas the Austronesian people migrated from the island of Formosa (Taiwan) to Maritime Southeast Asia (Indonesia and Philippines),around the southern coast of Indo-China and Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia (Cham, Moken and Southern Thailand) and also to the Pacific Islands (Micronesia and Polynesia).so that the people of Thailand are included in the category of Austronesian people are people in Southern Thailand and some parts of Central Thailand, and they speak in Malayo-Polynesian language

  • and if you hear Thai people speak ,surely they language have an affinity with Lao ,Khmer,Burmese and Yue (Viet Nam) language and they language also accompanied by little influence of the Chinese mainland language, while Malay, Indonesia and Tagalog sounded very different from Thai language.mention the vowels (a, i, u, e, o) sounds more pronounced in the Malayo-Polynesian languages (Austronesian).

The conclusion is Thai people do not belong to the Austronesian peoples..

  • now the FUCKING FILIPINOS can stop saying that they are more of SPANISH blood than Austronesian to (boost their self esteem).

  • @savvy1954 i would not call that boosting self esteem.. haha infact i hate it that we were colonized by spanished coz some of our cultures were destroyed... we should have continued using our baybayin alphabet...and our baybayin is kinda cool...now its lost..

  • @savvy1954 and besides OUR TAN is the envy of Europeans hahah..

  • wat bout fiji?

  • @Jenlove26 you are right..i'm forget about Fiji Rotuma, they also considered as Austronesian people who speak Austronesian language.

  • @lagodaxnian wat does austronesian exactly mean? b/c im samoan and i always thought we were just polynesians..til i came across austronesian youtubes and i found out bout all dis..i totally agree tho b/c i always seen southeast asian folks/philipines/indonesians/micronesians..etc i see alot of the similarity of looks, etc w/polynesians..but wat exactly is the autronesian language?

  • @Jenlove26 @Jenlove26 In etymology, the word Austronesian itself comes from the Latin "Auster" which means south, and Greek "Nesos" which means islands.Austronesian means islands in the southern region.Austronesia now limited only as an Austronesian language family, like other language family in other parts of the world such as Semitic, West arya and East Arya.Austronesian language family is very rich and broad dissemination.

  • @Jenlove26 distribution ranging from the northern tip of Taiwan (Formosa) located in Asia, and Micronesia, to the southern tip of New Zealand,From the western tip of Madagascar, located in East Africa, to the easternmost island of the Easter Island (Rapa Nui), which came into the State in Chile, South America. And the total area, actually Austronesian language is the most widespread language before colonization by Europeans.

  • the origins of Austronesian languages is still a subject of controversy, some say that comes from Taiwan, but there are also saying that come from Sundaland where this area drowning in melting ice age.see that the Austronesian language family originated from the same area then ascertained that they are the same family of nations or in other words they are an offspring in the past.

  • influence that comes from the outside makes them now much more diverse in the cultural side, and even physically (although it has a less significant difference),this is why not too many cultural differences between Indonesia, the Philippines, Micronesia and Polynesia.about the term Polynesia ityself is a term coined by western society to describe a group of islands in the south pacific region as well as the terms of Southeast Asia and Micronesia.

  • zoning is what makes them look different from one another and of course any adjacent area has a great chance in the language and cultural similarities.for example, people in the area around the islands of the South Pacific(in this case is the Polynesian) will have more similarities in language and culture in comparison with other areas located far away (Southeast asia) even though they are still one family nation and language.

  • North American until South American (Indian) included..!

  • @yudiweb no..Amerindian not include as Austronesian people whose speak austronesian language family.but yes, they are the same with austronesian people as indigenous people..

  • @lagodaxnian and Hawaii?

  • @yudiweb Hawaii ? Of Course !! all polynesian people considered as austronesian people who speak austronesian language..

  • aku ingin jadi penggemar SEJARAH kayak kamu...pt sih kerjanya di library..banyak buku sejarah..tapi aku ngak baca he3.

I do read Chinese / Indian [Asia Tenggara] History...when i was still schooling and i scored quite good marks...but now i mostly read the cover, first page and end cover for the ISBN number for every books, more on novels for pleasure reading...thats about it not much on the content though....only if i am asked to make book review then i have to read the whole book...

  • @prettylady71 so,you're work in public library ? woww..you're lucky, because you have more opportunity to read all the books for free..I also was one of the members of the public library in Indonesia.. but only to the extent as the borrower's books. I'm a bit rare these days to borrow books at the library, because I prefer to buy it if I have more money each month. I just do not like to wait according to borrow books because of the very limited number of books.. :)

  • @lagodaxnian yahhhh sort of...he3...some say librarian is pretty boring though...but i kinda like it, work with books is way better than work with people....actually libraries, they do have a lot of books but not of the same kind...as far as i know...libraries only keep 5 of the same books, at times, it maybe less than 5 depends on the topics...mostly one or two copies for rare books.... i've come across book that cost RM900 but cant remember the title. You like to buy books...wahhh...awesome!

  • @prettylady71 I Can only buy the books that I want when I have extra money each month because the book is not something cheap in Indonesia. I even sometimes have to save to buy a book, what a pity .. hahaha :D

  • lagunya broo... mantap hehe

    tp knp rating disabled?

  • iya bro org2 dr ikepulauan pasifik dan ndonesia timur rata2 dianugrahi suara yg bagus. ingat penyanyi jazz edo kondolangit dr papua? suaranya mantab.. salah satu penyanyi favorit gw lol.

  • bukan bahasa malaysia...

    bahasa melayu...^^

  • I'm filipino I'm asian by geography austronesian by blood. I'm one of those filipino who consider myself islander here in america. Lots of filipino who say they are asian because they probably mixed chinese or japanese etc. but the truth is austronesian is all over south east asia. also now lots of austronesian mix mongoloid. this video is just to bring awarenese to our people to not forget our indentity.

  • @IsaneProductions so true,bro.. :) austronesian is brown race not only language family.austronesian people is one of the oldest civilization in the world.and included as one of the biggest races in the world together with white, black, yellow and red..and austronesian people not came from china mainland but from sundaland..

  • I'm Filipino but I consider myself Asian because I am. If ever you would say something to a Filipino like "Filipinos are south pacific Islanders" in the Philippines, they just give you a ridiculous smile as if you said something retarded and say: "where'd you get that idea?"

Just so you know Filipinos are mixed people. Did you know Jose Rizal was part Chinese/Japanese/Hispanic/Malay? Filipino is a nationality and we're used to be called "indios" during the Spanish era.

  • @fullmetalsasuke21 "Indios" is Spanish called for native filipino, while we called "Indies" by Dutch Colonial.why do they all think we are similar to the Indian people? I think we really differ with the Indians.Western colonial casually giving the names for they occupy land as if they were the inventor of the land.for I do not care whether you consider yourself as asian or the Pacific Islanders, because philippines geographically located in Asia, but the majority your people are Austronesian race.

  • if you say that you were part of the asian race (mongoloid race) because you only have a little chinese or japanese blood, I think it is very naive.

  • in Indonesia, even many people who have the blood of Portuguese, Dutch, Chinese and Japanese.but still they declared themselves as Austronesian of Indonesia.because we realized that it's our nation identity.and it also doesn't make us separate from Asian community.for the Asian continent are not represented only by a particular race (in this case Mongoloid race).
