what is the meaning of this ceremony?

in old times...during a special buddhist ceremony..it is a ritual for kings to attend. The chaophraya river is like the main road...so kings would take the royal barges to the temple to the ceremony. the singing to keep the rower in tune with the rowing pattern as u can see..also the singing add to the enterntainment for the king.
