I have to say this is a good cover considering that they just debuted that time. Of course, the vital part of the song is its harmonization and by far no one group can beat DB5K at that. Although SHINee lack in harmony in this cover, they actually did great for a newly debuted group. I have no doubt they can do way better than this now :)

Now, they are dubbed as one of the best live performers. They really have grown in two years. Proud of these boys. I would love to hear them to a DBSK ballad now and see how much they have improved.

the members seem to get from ok to worse. but all in all, its their first try so they can definitely do much better than now! though i think dbsk will always sound better. =x no offence though.

Can't you guys hear? They didn't do any harmonizing at all.. it's not like they CAN'T harmonize. They just didn't do it for this song. (They just sang the main melody of the chorus as it is.)
they did harmonize... just not as well as the original.. actually the mid lower is coming out of the harmony a little louder.. so you'll know it immediately that they are harmonizing..

They're better vocally than I gave them credit for, at first. The harmony was fhfherg gross, but they're not DBSK. It's not as important for their aesthetic.
i refuse to compare SHINee esp. with the great & gorgeous dbsk who's already made. SM ent. definitely saw potential here & they'll be packaged differently. and w/ excellent composers/arrangers/stylists, this new group will really "shine". thanks much, jaejin.

Remember SHINee are still very young! While DBSK are a couple years older. So SHINee's vocal may not be as good because maybe they haven't had as many years of experience. :) So in a couple of years i think SHINee will be just as good as DBSK ♥
In my opinion DBSK sing this song better. It 's good to make an attempt to try to sing different songs. But to be honest no one can sing "I believe" better than DBSK. At this moment Shinee can't overcome DBSK. It 's impossible.
shinee shouldnt sing dbsk songs...not saying that shinee isnt good (i <3 them) BUT!! the two groups are TOO TOO different. their style of music, esp. shinee has 3 really strong vocals, but dbsk 5. by singing dbsk songs, shinee looks like theyre trying to be like dbsk, which theyre not.

T_T I think my ears bled a little. They had no flow, harmony or anything what so ever. I praise them for them ATTEMPTING such a great song but seriously, have talent before you try. This is what happens when groups like Shinee and Big bang try to sing like DBSK-like boyband songs.
The fact that theres only ONE outstanding singer in Shinee (jonghyun) and two and a half good singers in Big Bang (Seungri, Daesung, G dragon)
DBSK is so big and so amazing to this day because ALL 5 are amazing vocally. ALL of them are at the level of solo artists, which is what makes DBSK so powerful and incredible.
Im not comparing them, its just terribly obvious when they sing DBSK songs
Dbsk originally was an accapella group but later deviated to main pop stream. They were more or less, more trained in sharing vocals to create harmony. Shinee, not only being young, are more contemporary, and I do think, kind of on the jazzy style.
I do agree though that the singing vocals are more in Dbsk, but Jonghyuns voice is very unique. On dancing wise, I think it is pretty even, considering how Dbsk would have danced at Shinee's age, and Taemin, beign 15 is really good already. ^^
don't forget taeyang! he is actually the main vocalist i believe in BIG BANG. (: His solo song for example, "Look at only me" shows his strong vocal ability.

but they have amazing, amazing potential.
the voices are beautiful, and even if they can't absolutely captivate like the original, it's adorable, they work hard, and they'll do great in the future.
dbsk may have sung this song when they just debuted but they received a lot more time in training before debut compared to shinee.
poor taeminnie only got vocal lessons about a month before debut T_T
but you know i love both versions, it would be kinda boring if they sounded the same and i love hearing the same song but in a different way <3

I myself think they start pretty good but messy at chorus. agree with someone said they tend to yell. And one important thing they haven't shown their unique in their voice which DBSK do

At the beginning Xiah's part I was like OMG! That Sounds so much like JunSu!!! JUST a little. Then I heard the rest of the song and.... Well, I guess it's not that bad. I'm not a SHINee fan or anything but they do sound good... Maybe I'll listen to a few of their songs....

i won't say it's the best but hey it's actually good though they need to work on their harmonizing. at least they tried and did not butcher the song.. c'mon people show some appreciation.. DBSK is where they are now because of hard work. and they've improved tremendously. and SHINee.. they are young but has potential. great great potential...

Remember SHINee are still very young! While DBSK are a couple years older. So SHINee's vocal may not be as good because maybe they haven't had as many years of experience. :) So in a couple of years i think SHINee will be just as good as DBSK ♥

In my opinion DBSK sing this song better. It 's good to make an attempt to try to sing different songs. But to be honest no one can sing "I believe" better than DBSK. At this moment Shinee can't overcome DBSK. It 's impossible.

shinee shouldnt sing dbsk songs...not saying that shinee isnt good (i <3 them) BUT!! the two groups are TOO TOO different. their style of music, esp. shinee has 3 really strong vocals, but dbsk 5. by singing dbsk songs, shinee looks like theyre trying to be like dbsk, which theyre not.

...DBSK still sings this song the best...I think SHINee made a good attempt, but it was a bit off key and could have been harmonized better. Still, not a bad attempt, DBSK is very hard to compete with.

It was alright..I think the quality of the audio made it sound worse than it actually was..still this is my fave DBSK song and no other group/singer will emote and sing it as perfectly as DBSK has

T_T I think my ears bled a little. They had no flow, harmony or anything what so ever. I praise them for them ATTEMPTING such a great song but seriously, have talent before you try. I mean, the first 5 sec I had SERIOUSLY wanted to turn this mess off. The only one that was worth hearing in my opinion was Jonghyun, now that's some talent ^_~.

they did good...DBSK sang the song around their age, but like what others said...DBSK was originally an acapella group and each and everyone of them can become a solo singer...while SHINee is for mainstream and contemporary...
did anybody else sang Midhuyo besides SHINee and Kyuhyun-Kyung Rok?
I know the other songs were sang by other artist though...

This is what happens when groups like Shinee and Big bang try to sing like DBSK-like boyband songs.
The fact that theres only ONE outstanding singer in Shinee (jonghyun) and two and a half good singers in Big Bang (Seungri, Daesung, G dragon)
DBSK is so big and so amazing to this day because ALL 5 are amazing vocally. ALL of them are at the level of solo artists, which is what makes DBSK so powerful and incredible.
Im not comparing them, its just terribly obvious when they sing DBSK songs

Dbsk originally was an accapella group but later deviated to main pop stream. They were more or less, more trained in sharing vocals to create harmony. Shinee, not only being young, are more contemporary, and I do think, kind of on the jazzy style.
I do agree though that the singing vocals are more in Dbsk, but Jonghyuns voice is very unique. On dancing wise, I think it is pretty even, considering how Dbsk would have danced at Shinee's age, and Taemin, beign 15 is really good already. ^^

don't forget taeyang! he is actually the main vocalist i believe in BIG BANG. (: His solo song for example, "Look at only me" shows his strong vocal ability.

And Onew is a pretty good singer too. Taking into consideration they're still amazingly young, I believe Key and Taemin will also improve quite a lot on their vocals ^^. They're working quite hard, after all.
Also, Youngbae is another good singer in Big Bang. The lead, actually XD.

SHINee boys have a long way to go,
but they have amazing, amazing potential.
the voices are beautiful, and even if they can't absolutely captivate like the original, it's adorable, they work hard, and they'll do great in the future.
