  • the only one of ALL of these I remember is "Johnny Marr he plays guitar". These boys should have been writers for the Dandy!

I came here because I read that Wincey Willis is now tweeting people. That's 2012!

  • I was in an old recording studio in Newcastle a couple of years back and found a couple of box loads of the singles of this piled up in the junk.

  • @trench124 Wow, that will be the old Impulse Studios, part of Neat Records in Wallsend. What's it like now? What did you do with the singles? I thought the whole place had closed down.

  • @monocle3 I picked a couple up but the whole place has been demolished now along with the old borough theatre next door. It was all closed down when I was there and the place had been pretty trashed

  • @trench124 Just had a look at the road on Street View. It shows the building still standing almost as I remember it. Good memories recording there back when I was 18. Shame it's gone now, but times change and it was a bit of a dump I guess!

  • Yes! Yes it totally is. Good spot. And the guy went on to be in an awful pop duo called Yell who were the big new thing for a brief moment in about 1989.

  • Is that "Our Rita" from Johnny Briggs presenting the show at the start of the clip?

  • David Icke rides a bike lol

  • Andy Crane was gutted to learn he had no brain.

  • Maybe someone should dub 'Richard Keys has got no knees' with 'Richard Keys has got no job'...

  • Oh I remember Ian McCaskill and his HULLOOOOOOOS.!

    love this song :)

  • Takes me back. Brilliant.

  • a bit Housemartins - esc

  • Whats with the goldfish?! lol

  • This is a catchy song and an awesome video too. Simple yet effective. They must have had fun making it.

  • @RichyO1977 I'm afraid it was copied from an old VHS tape so the quality is pretty rubbish. I did contact the BBC to see if they had the original, but it's long gone.

  • @monocle3 Even so, there shouldn't be any greyscale.

The fault is probably in whatever you used to transfer the cliip from VHS to PC.

  • I bought this record!!!

  • I could not agree more! In the age of 24hrs news it semms like a weather forcast is every 15mins. I can`t even name 1 weather presenter nowdays apart from Darren Bent and all the rest are... and all the female presenters are pregnant! I remember "Got it wrong again" Fish, reliable Kettley. nervous Mckaskill and winkey Giles! "Well that`s all from me, goodnight" (wink)

  • Sunderland a fabulous town? What crack has he been smoking? Sunderland is a fucking shithole full of cousin fuckers.

  • i was 19 when this came out. still awesome

  • My friend Ashleys Dad is Andy Stevenson she was so shocked when she saw this ha great video

  • I remember this was played loads of times on Childrens BBC (But First This) in that Summer, 1998. Haven't heard it in years. Great tune!

  • It's just great isn't it - you just can't help but love it.

    Rock on Stephen.

  • What's the female presenter called?

  • Sue Devaney

  • what a great tune this is,simon parkin is always larkin you cant beat lyrics like that lol

  • None are characters nowadays yet years ago there was Bernard Davey, John Kettley, michael Fish, Bill Giles and Ian McCaskill. I can't even name one now.

I saw McCaskill on the tram in Sheffield a few years ago and every single person who got on at various stops shouted "Hulllllooooo" Brilliant.

  • BUT SImon Parkin is now ..... A WEATHERMAN!!!

    Go figure?

  • @rhinoswellies There are still 'characters'. Rob McElwee, Daniel Corbett, and Tomasz Schafernaker are my favourites.
