First of all- what are vertices, what did u do by deleting the vertices, you haven't explained anything. One of worst tutorials I've seen

@Nightmare1066 well first to explain vertices/verts you need to know what low poly modelling/ Low poly modelling is where you create the basic shape then subdivide it then ad details/to save time i simply make the low poly model than add a texture or material now finnaly the vertices explanation verts are the basic spots that define the model by filling in the space with a flat 3d shape in between and subsurf is just making it look smoother simple if ya need help don't hesitate to ask

You may have to make sure the settings are the same as the ones in the video for the Background Image. Make sure that your size is up so that it isn't a small dot on the screen. Make your blend is set to your liking, if it is set all the way to one end it may be either solid or completely transparent.
