It's utter shit. Thomas Grimble (of Hawkwind fame) was involved in recording the 4th album and played it to me after a gig on headphones in 1983. It was never released but contained lots of references to Maggie Thatcher , amongst others. It was gut-wrenchingly funny. Piss-inducing hilarity. Is that proof enough that they carried-on doing what they did best?
Yes another stupid retrospective analytical 'documentary' about something that was valid, funny and very original. It is perfectly ok to laugh at Derek & Clive without rationalising it and analysing it so that there is no possibility of anybody thinking you are a sexist boor, but no it's got to be seriously taken apart to explain to us plebs that it isn't really sexist & vulgar but actually quite cool. Thanks but I didn't need a Phd to work that out. Some things are just damn good!

There compelled to deconstruct everything in the name of continential postmodernism or some other ism. They claim to study popular culture but their degree's are crape. I'd like to know where these scenes where 'Dudley isn't there' in Derek and Clive Get The Horn, because I've seen it about 6 times and I don't remember any, apart from where Dudley (after comments about his mum being like a whale) gets up and walks around the studio before coming back within a minute.
@FailboatSkipper either these were edited out or it was the scene that you mentioned on here, where Cook had comparied Dudley's mum with a whale that he then decided too walk out of the studio.
Judging by the Channel 4 drama Not Only But Always, made five years or so, which it showed on numerous occasions Dudley wanted too punch Cook's lights because of his spiteful attitude towards him. Even in the 60s Cook could be a c@@t towards Dudley and the drama showed that.
@Professor6871 Absolutely, I'm not doubting that Cook was a cunt to Dudley, it's definitely evident throughout all their work. However it specifically says in this that in Derek and Clive Get The Horn there are scenes where Dudley was 'walked out', but I know for sure there aren't.
@FailboatSkipper A Channel 4 documentary about the three albums of Derek and Clive mentioned that during filming Dudley walked out of recording but for him to return. It also said in the docu that Peter hadn't even in the first place, told Dudley that it was being filmed, which Dudley did not like at all. You can see it here on You Tube if you want.
