I survived HSV2 Encephalitis in Nov 2005. I was 38yrs old at the time. I have been left with an acquired brain injury, lost most of my memories from before the illness, have prob with memory and emotions and mobility problems now as well as severe fatigue. It can take up to 10yrs for the brain too fully recover but i will never be able to work again. i was lucky, i didnt suffer seizures. Stay strong because you will recover a lot from where you are now i promise :)
I was diagnosed with herpes simplex encephalitis this past november(3 months ago).....many MANY changes with regards to how I use to be...although some of it might just be side effects from seizure meds

i've never heard of a situation in the USA where a brain biopsy was actually used to diagnose herpes encephalitis
