Bergmans films were much better than any Godard film! Nothing really happens in Godards movies and I never see the point with them! Maybe It's me... anyway - I love tha last line in this clip! Otherwise, the Swedish Ingmar Bergman is sooooooooooo much more interesting and clever! Especially with the dialogue.
The voice over here is essentially a citation from Georges Perec's novel Les Choses, published in 1965. The only changes Godard made were to take out few phrases and adjust the pronoun from "them" to "we". Another notable difference was to transform "the women had aged terribly" into "Marilyn Monroe had aged terribly".

i read a quote by Bergman saying that Godard was "a fucking bore" and all sorts of insult to his movies. Is it true that Bergman didn't like Godard?

@babyshams90 yes, in fact he hate all Godard's film, except Une femme mariee, he liked that one

Godard is a genius but Bergman was the greatest director that ever lived. No one comes even close.

Wait ,what? The Silence (by Ingmar Bergman) is being parodied here?
Geradness 2 years ago
Yes. The film they are watching is a 'spoofed' The Silence.
