I remember Atlantic wanted to go to 45's and trying to decide what to do as a cost factor. "Teardrops" was a runaway hit and Ahmet said, "Give it to Ruth! Let's see what it does." "Teardrops" was a national smash and it started the 45rpm business for Atlantic. It was the first song that really put her on the map. I thought "So Long" would have done it but the public was waiting for something with bounce to it.
