  • 10:10 Gives me chills every time.

  • Ok so MM bein my fav Zelda game, I got to thinkin. What if Zelda 3D was a sequel or prequel to MM. Tell what happens in Termina afterward. Or tell Terminas story in a prequel like SS did for Hirule

  • idk why but the lack of music in this scene makes the dialogue more sincere.

  • The drawing at the end made me cry...

  • And thus, Termina was saved. Unfortunatly this victory was short lived, when they suffered a complete economic downfall. Some speculate that the leading cause seemed to have been Link using his power of time travel to commit bank fraud.

  • That akward moment when someone doesn't take their 18+ roleplays to chat and you sit there staring at your computer with a pokerface

  • And then link dies and turns into a stalfos. This is a very sad game

  • @jaretnintendonerd im pretty sure that Link gets back to Hyrule and tells Zelda about Ganon and everything, reproduces and gets killed in the Lost Woods and is turned into a stalfos. Why i say that Link reporoduces is because in Twilight Princess, Link is a rancher, so its likely that Ocarina of Time Link had a child with Malon, who lived on a the Lon Lon Ranch. And in Twilight Princess theres the Hero's Shade, who was TP Link's mentor. Shade looks like a Stalfos and wields the sword and shield

  • @jaretnintendonerd that Link uses during Majoras Mask, and at one point he calls TP Link his son, but could be refering to him as his apprentice.

Also, in the Hyrule Historia it says that Hero's Shade IS The Hero of Time's ghost (Ocarina of Time link)

  • at 3:08 the masks on the salesman's backpack change

  • I wanted to see adult Kafei!!

  • Omg I cracked up when I read roger

  • 10:11 is the best part, it's the song you taught the Skullkid in OOT, and earlier in this video he said you smell like the boy who taught him the song in the woods.

  • I tear up at the end of this game. Such a beautiful ending to such a great ending.

  • The ending and credits sequence is one reason why Majora's Mask is, to this day, my favorite Zelda game.

  • ROGER!

  • To be serious, this game annoyed me, according to the three days.

But anyway, I think this game is classic, and evokes wonderful memories.

This is still a great game..

  • I feel real bad for the butler at the end

  • Link: great.... i saved the world from utter disaster again.... now what?

  • 2:27 if you notice behind the skull kid before the Happy Mask Salesman walks past them, that the mask salesman was behind and teleported on a different path, how many people notice that

  • Apparently, the adult Kafei was there in the wedding, but we can't see him. Stupid Tingle!!!

  • Since link fucks off and does his own thing without going back to the pedestal of time... doesn't that mean that eventually, he will have to return to Hyrule and properly live out his young adult years again and slap ganondorf upside the head once more?

  • @bourky93 nah, he warns Zelda about ganons ploy and 3 months after OoT, when Ganon tries to attack and is captured / cast out, Link departs for Navi

this is where MMask pick up

  • The faries are so adorable when they cuddle :3

  • Dawn of a New Day. Best five words ever.

  • 2:04 reference to Oot playing Saria's song to the skull kid in the lost woods

  • @knucklesfan8 Everyone knows this. :)

  • 9:12 Skull kid killed the Butler's son and cursed link afterward. He is there crying after finding his son dead.

  • @taisakukaizoku Probably one of the saddest thing ever

  • what happen to link

  • I BEAT THIS GAME BUT REMEMBER 0% OF IT

  • @Eleetnessful is that because you just plain forgot everything, or because you just thought it was an okay game? i loved this one and OoT, and remember almost everything. but i thought twilight princess and skyward sword were just okay, and as a result, i remember almost nothing from them

  • When I first played this game through, I was kinda disappointed because I didn't trust the Happy Mask Salesman until this point. I thought for sure that HE, NOT THE STUPID MASK, was the true antagonist of the plot. I mean, really! Why would you go through all of that trouble for some mask capable of destroying the world? And, if Link got it back before the three final days were up, so what? The world would be safe and all, but where would YOU have to be then? That's what I thought at first...

  • 2:03 Taught the song? OoT reference ftw.

  • 0:15... i never got it ??? A relative ? D: that skullkid transformed ?

  • The Happy Mask Salesman....truly one of the most enigmatic characters I've ever come across...

  • @ 10:11 omfg...

  • ooohhh...i like how they made a reference to ocarina of time :D i thought that was the dude from the lost forest....

  • This made me shed a tear. A tear of manly beer. (lol jk) but no really, I did shed a tear. The marriage of Kafei and Anju just made me happy, because Kafei was gone for 1 month, he was not within Anju's sights, but was still yet within. The bulter's son is also a saddening sight. I just hope they add something after MM, something emotional. I just loved Majora's Mask for it's story.

  • Some of the music is Zelda really creeps me out...

  • I always wondered if the Four Giants ever resurrected Mikau & Darmani...

  • 10:20 Saria's Stump

  • 10 year old brother: whys this game called legend of zelda?

me: because you have to save princess zeld- fuck idk

  • @oreosandmilk67 It is hilarious because in this game, Zelda is there for 5 seconds...... literally.

  • Majora's Mask disliked this video because he lost. Sakon disliked this video because...he's an asshole.

  • where could Link possibly be going?

  • @afr0nati0n to continue his search for Navi, what he was originally doing

  • Comment removed

  • @zeldafreak701 he did take the deku buttlers sons life to make deku link because every mask has a soul and the buttler says he looks like his son with the mask on so it dose add up

  • While I want to believe that the Skull took the soul of the Butler's son to make Deku Link, it doesn't really add up. The Zora and Goron mask were both made from the souls of the deceased, but when Link donned the mask, the people thought he was them but when Link wears the Deku mask, the Butler just talks to him normally.

  • @zeldafreak701 He said to link that he looked a lot like my son, you remind me of him.

  • @TheJamiam True, and I'm not saying that's not possible, but he the fact is that he was supposed to look like the person whose soul was inhabiting the mask. The Goron elder didn't say that it looked like Darmani, he thought it was Darmani. Same with Mikau. Just saying...............

  • @zeldafreak701 Isn't it weird though that the remains of his son were found right next to the site you were turned into a deku.

  • @TheJamiam Yeah. I would like to believe it was his son but I for some reason keep looking at the facts that I mentioned. Ahaha, I feel like a nerd.

  • @zeldafreak701

He said on multiple occasions "you remind me of my son."

  • @FFVIIYazoolover

Yes, never that it he was his son. I'm not trying to start an argument here, it's just something that you might want to consider.

  • @zeldafreak701

No he didnt say it was his son, because in Link form he didnt recognize him as his son....What other Deku Scrub would Majora have killed to give Link the mask?

  • @FFVIIYazoolover Ahh true!! so the mask had his son's spirit inside. Nice Theory!!! I never thought about it.... good one.

  • I wonder if Link got out of the Lost Woods at 9:45.

  • poor butler.... poor butler..... poor... poor.... butler...... SERIOUSLY DID THAT GUY EVER GET PAYED!

  • Everyone's all happy but the Deku butler part is so fucking sad.

  • A continuation of Majora's Mask would truly be great. To clarify if Link ever found Navi, I just wish they would actually make it exactly like this because this game owns. :'(

  • Tatl: So why don't you leave and go about your business? the rest of us have a carnival to attend to.

    Link: OKAY! :D

  • Anju and Kafei together at their wedding warms the heart. As does Skull Kid's picture.

  • I think it was cute how Skull kid played Sarias at the end

  • thanks i defeated the final boss then my game froze on gamecube/wii

    T_T

  • That mask seller guy scared the crap outta me when I played this when I was younger & he still gives me the creeps with that laugh...

  • Ooh, was the fairy kid who taught skull kid the song Saria? I've never noticed this sentence...maybe that's because I played MM before OOT....

  • @weijay21 actually he is remembering when a kid was in the woods and played saria's song to him in ocarina of time. So I guess it means that Link and Skull kid met before.

  • @weijay21 No, It's Link. In OOT you play Saria's song for him and he gives you a heart container

  • Comment removed

  • ROGER!........ THANK YOU!

haha thumps up if that part made you smile a little bit more ;)

  • Tatl is a feelingless bitch :'(

"Why don't you just leave and go about your business? The rest of us got a carnival to go to"

  • @yvonnaQT oh, he didn't forget Zelda. At the end of Ocarina, he returned to meet her again, remember?

He actually set out to Look for Navi. I'm not sure, but I think Majora's Mask is set just a few (well, in our time) month's after Ocarina.

  • I just beat the game and I can't figure out who the giant in the Milk Bar with the neckerchief and gold wrist bands is at 7:55? I don't recognize him.

  • @AHthiy zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Zubora_and_Gabora

  • hey what was that at the end?! 9:16-10:20 i always had the feeling that something is missing

  • I Love the Jazz music at 4:24

  • Je ne sais pas comment font a Nintendo pour faire toujours les fins trop emotives. . .

  • who has a fireworks display in broad daylight?

  • OMG at 2:20 look on the mask guys bag, Isnt that a mask of mario?

  • @MajinBou1005 I saw it, 2!!!

  • aw, nju looks great in her wedding dress! so happy for her

  • That Link finish up dead (turns into a Stalfos) trying to find Navi in the Lost Woods, and becomes The Hero's Shade in Twilight Princesse :P

  • do you finish oot ? everyone know after link kill ganondorf is returns in is original time 7 year ago

  • I just realized something,The zelda series,Never goes in a Storyline Game series,I mean,In ocarina of time,Hes a adult in the end,and Majora's mask,Is Ocarina of time 2,But in the starting hes a Kid! Wassup with Dat?

  • @TheGrantFreak There is a storyline but its confusing. Some believe that majora's mask occurs after link goes back in time to live his childhood and try to find Navi or Saria. Then Twilight Princess occurs and some assume the Stalfos who trains that Link was the Link from Majora/Ocarina of time.

  • @Deathnotexp Oh hold up,i remember now.

  • @TheGrantFreak Link was never really an Adult, he was turned to one by force and in the end of Oot Zelda sent him back to his timeline as a kid.

  • @4everOscar Ah,i remember now.

  • @Billyogiant And never again will they make something so original using 70% of the game befor it

  • i always get mindfucked by these endings :[

  • Was the stump at the end the place where you tell the skull kid sarias song in OoT?

  • @kingnathant1 Yes it was indeed

  • This game may have been very different than Ocarina, but it was just as good. The storyline, especially, was much more interesting and emotional. Nintendo needs to step away from the not-so-innovated-dark-lord-captures-princess storyline and get back to their roots.

  • ROGER!

  • @awakenedlink37 DODGER!

  • @FourSwordsLord JODGER! Wait..

  • I bet what link was thinking after he beat Majora's Mask was: "Those were the worst 3 days of my life. >:("

  • @AveryGamerDude 3 days, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.. speaking of de ja vu ?

  • @AveryGamerDude Witch ones?

  • I wish it showed Kafei as an Adult, would make me :') sarias song at the end makes me choke up..

  • The way they did all this is so powerful. The effect the butler and his deceased son had on me was very powerful. When he first notes that you remind him of his son is the first strike, but he doesn't exactly say that his son died. Then, seeing him there weeping in front of the tree you saw at the beginning, it just all comes right at yeah all at once when you realize that the Deku Mask is his son's spirit and that tree is his deceased son. It's very touching and you can really feel for him.

  • the deku butler part is so fuking sad ='(

  • Why is there no sequel to Majora's Mask yet? The game begins with Link looking for a "beloved friend" yet by the end of the game he still hasn't even embarked on this journey. Majora's Mask just seems to be one big obstacle in Link's path to begin his aforementioned journey.

  • @Imawiseguy2 Reason is: saddly, this link died on search of his friend (navy the fairy)

some theories think link became a stalfos.. called hero shade...

    i know its sad.. but..

    link.. will always be

    a legend

  • @hugoescruz he is the stalfos from twilight princess

  • L-Link...is playing the guitar in the back of the song. Maybe that explains why he never returned?

  • I was always wondering why Ganondorf has no clone in Majora's Mask? His surrogative mothers Twinrova do. Was Ganon just too evil to be in Termina? lol.

  • Comment removed

  • 4:49 SHE STOLE SARIA'S VOICE!

  • i heard their was another ending that showed link walking and then fadeing away as a light slowly starts to shine..

  • The Wind Waker intro shows Link leaving Hyrule on horseback but this is actually misleading. The story of Link leaving Hyrule and "the elements that made him a hero" is him getting sent back in time. This is stated blatantly by Daphnes in the original Japanese version but left unconfirmed in the English version.

  • This game is such a haunting reminder of my childhood. :) How i spent hours scared of it, but at the same time never wanting to stop playing it.

:D Happy Mask Shop dude rocks btw.

  • I only beat the game once but I gotta say it was epic, however Ocarina of Time is more than Epic it's just a Legacy.

  • @Billyogiant i don't knwo what you're refering to, but i don't think analyzing video games is embarassing at all. SOME games, deserve to be considered works of art, and majora's mask is one of them. you wouldn't think it's embarassing to analyze a movie or a book.

  • and by tribes I mean Dekus, Zoras, Gorons and other evilings, ghosts and stuff found in Ikana region (there is a total of about two citizens disturbed by that lack of light).

So yeah, too much isolation and compartment.. needs more openness, breathing membranes.

  • My only gripe about the characters and their story in M'sM is that they could have been interlinked better. The only interlinking you see is in the Anju/Kafei affair with Sakon the thief the curiosity shop Owner and the girl at the Mayor's house, and maybe Gorman and the Indigo-Go's manager and bartender things. Stuff that happens in Clocktown and that stays in Clocktown, because no one there is aware of the other tribes around, and so are the other tribes not conscient about each existence.

  • I liked how normal and casual, living their lives, those characters were (other than for the giants and the Majora's Mask, which sadly felt out of place and meaningless), how they all became victims of Majora's Mask, their reaction to the moon's approach, the winter/darkness unending, the poisoned swamp/bay, leading to very pragmatic events, compared OoT all prophetic and otherworldy cast of sages and triforce owners. From there it all comes down to preferences:Zelda/Triforce or Psychedelic mask

  • However, with that being said, the characters in Majora's Mask (think about Gorman, Anju and Kafei, Sakon, Pamela and her Father in Ikana canyon, some Gorons and some Zoras or even the Postman, they all had some plot attached to them) however were more developed and overall better I find (you feel more alone in OoT), it was interesting to follow their story during those three days which repeated themselves at will (and here again, very cool inventive design for a game plot, I claim).

  • I also disliked most of the location, the terrain arrangement and the map, the way things are layed out on the overworld. It's mostly flat ground or boring high towers. Even though Clocktown, house interiors, minigames, Deku Palace, Majora's mask & co events are high in colors, I found most of the other areas of the games monotone and dull looking and sounding.

  • Just finished this game.. I had never played it before.

And I think I prefer Ocarina of Time big time. Majora's Mask looked good and colorful graphicwise, but it's score wasn't as good, actually I thought it was pretty bad, the boss fights were lame too (the bosses themselves and the way you kill them, also maybe their context and backstory, reason of being and acting).. and so were the dungeons, again, just because I'm comparing it with the perfect OoT.

  • In wind waker, they say that he never came back. but in majora mask's ending, link does come back. what's with that?

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 that's actually a really good question. At first I thought maybe it referred to the evil taking over while Link was in Termina. I myself assume Link still continued to look for Navi in The Lost Woods or something, somehow avoiding the evil.

  • @FourSwordsLord from what i understand windwaker was the alternate universe 100yrs after when teen link vanishes (goes back to being kid link at the end of ocarina of time) and is no long part of that "time/space"... something like that...

  • @FourSwordsLord

I find it strange though. Everything does indeed point out that The Windwaker takes place after Ocarina of time, in the timeline where Link went back to his childhood, and Ganon managed to take over while the hero was away. This would mean that Link didn't release the Sages in this timeline. But still, the windows in Hyrule Castle in the Wind Waker, have Saria, Darunia, Ruto, Naburu and Impa displayed on them.

  • @FourSwordsLord Oh dear, here we go. You have played Ocarina of Time, right? Yeah, Wind Waker takes place in the Adult Link timeline. Since Zelda sends Link out of the present and back to the past to live out his childhood, Zelda effectively rids her time period of the Hero of Time, so there was no hero to combat the evil. Wind Waker Link wasn't part of the Hero bloodline. Yes, the Zelda timeline splits. Hard to follow but that's how it is. Also, Link ends up with Malon. Fun fact.

  • @FourSwordsLord what i ready was that after the events of Ocarina of Time, Link created two parallel Ganondorf's. One being wind waker and the other being twilight princess, Twilight Princess takes place literally 100 years after OoC where they execute Ganondorf but fail and blah blah. In wind waker Link never came back but the gods helped the praying people in the end :P

  • @FourSwordsLord Link died in the lost woods and became Hero's Shade in TP, check it out.

  • Comment removed

  • @FourSwordsLord Pretty sure there are "split" timelines between young link and adult link. In young link's timeline, this timeline, link never saved Hyrule and Ganondorf taking over never happened. Twilight princess's events happened in this timeline. The adult timeline, where Link left to return to his own time, is where the events of Windwaker took place.

  • @FourSwordsLord i think link went back looking for navi and turned into a stalfos and he is the heros shade in twilight princess

  • @FourSwordsLord idk why everyone says it is navi link was looking for i think it was saria

  • @FourSwordsLord The ending of Ocarina of Time creates a split timeline. In one timeline, Link has gone back in time to live out his childhood normally (though he instead goes looking for Navi and ends up on another adventure) courtesy of Princess Zelda. In the other, the one where Princess Zelda remains after sending Link back in time, is a timeline where Link no longer exists. Hence, there's no hero to defeat Ganon when he returns.

  • @FourSwordsLord while link was away in termina ganon escapes and link isnt there but after link kills teh majoras mask he gets killed in the woods and the guy in twighlight princess that teaches you the secret moves is the link that died its very confusing

  • @FourSwordsLord The "official" answer is that Ocarina of Time caused a split in the timeline. The "adult" timeline led to Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, while the "child" timeline led to Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.

  • @FourSwordsLord and he became hero's shade

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 that's because the wind waker took place after the adult ending of ocarina of time, where link was transported back in time to his childhood, meaning he disappeared in the other timeline and never came back.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 the explanation is prety simple actually, windwaker takes place in a different timeline. It was confirmed that Ocarina of Time created 2 timlines, one where Gannondorf got the triforce and Link defeated him then returned to his childhood, the second was the timeline where Link grew up instead of being frozen in time. Majora's ask happens in the second timeline, Windwaker is in the first

  • Comment removed

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 It's a little complicated. At the end of Ocarina of Time Zelda sends Link back in time and changes history. Wind Waker takes places in the version of history where all the events of Ocarina of Time happened and Ganon was sealed in the Sacred Realm. Majora's Mask takes place in the version of history that was changed. Link never picks up the Master Sword and Ganon never takes over Hyrule. Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess happen in this version of history.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 Theirs two universes as a result of zelda sending link back into time to live his childhood (orcarina of time ending). One is where link is no longer present which lead to wind waker. The other universe is where link arrives back in time to relive his childhood, link sets of to the lost woods to find navie which leads to majorias mask. The angry video game nerd goes into much more detail on the subject.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2

Majora's Mask is the Child Timeline. The one that leads into Twilight Princess.

Windwaker is on the adult Timeline. The future where zelda sends him to live out his childhood. He doesnt return and thus the events of windwaker occur.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 mmm whos back jejejejejeje dont remember

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 How do you know Link makes it back to Hyrule after leaving Termina?

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 This is a theory but Link went into the lost woods to look for navi, but he also doesn't have a fairy with him. Children that go into the lost woods without a fairy turn into skull kids. Link probably turned into one and is the one in TP because that skull kid looks different from all the other skull kids and he face resembles that of the moon in MM.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 Link just carried on in his Journey, at no point do they say he went back

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 both windwaker and majora's mask are defrent timeline elments after the end of OOT their was a timeparadocs, link place back the master sword in to the temple of time back as a kid agen, and warn the young zelda that ganondorf is going to take over hyrule, while the adult link remain he was set back as a child agen too in the windwaker that send him back with in 100 years ago befor OOT took place.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 I believe it's because he was long dead when the evil returned. Because he was the stuff of legend, the people thought their hero would return....even though he was but a human.

  • @Jugglebrosjr2 Wind Waker takes place after OoT, and MM never happened in that timeline. What it means is that Link never returned to the time when he defeated Ganon.

  • @manga19

The Butler's son was the one that the Skull Kid had killed first - so when everything was set right, it was too far back to be reversed.

  • Majora's Mask. A video game that is unlike any other. So far, it is the only video game that has ever made me cry. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you think. There is so much emotion and character development, and a very deep story to go along with it. Not many games out there show a 'real world' of sorts, which people that live their lives from day to day, have their own problems to deal with, etc.

This is forever be my most favorite game of all time.

  • I guess they're showing 6 different timelines during the credits, how can all these events unfold if you had to keep going back to save the four giants?

  • At 1:57, he's smelling Link... strange, I don't remember him smelling Link in Ocarina.

  • This ending pisses me off. You save mankind from extintion from the moon hitting the earth, then they kick you out for your troubles while they party. i mean they literally say "looks like you'd better go. the rest of us got a carnival to go to." If i was like id be like "fuck that weres the bar?" and party it up with those two dancers you see in the credits. I mean youd think link earned it for his troubles.

  • dude the thing with the butler is so sad, when i realized that the deku mask you get is his son and then you see him crying at his dead tree son...i mean really to much. Saddest thing in the game ;_;

  • @TheNutzChannel He did get a hug from Cremia, so it won't be that bad :D.

  • I've been waiting for years for a direct sequel to this one and Ocarina of Time. They're my most favorite of all the games.

  • @OneGaurdian I want anougher majoras mask game!

  • ........ROGER????????

  • @evilmoxie BEST NAME EVER XD

  • @Billyogiant

While I agree that MM is awesome, my favorite game of all time and is the best game ever is SSBB.

  • at 8:14 that was just such a cute little sceen with the daughter adn dad(:

  • hey after The End appears do u shut it off cuase lol.... im at that in MY game...

  • Wow... I didn't notice till 3:27, but holy crap Tatl! "Why don't you just leave and go about your business? The rest of us have a carnival to go to."

Seriously, LInk saved the world 3 times over, and you're telling him he's NOT INVITED to the Carnival?!

  • @ironballs16

Dude man! You are SO RIGHT! If I had to come up with the Top 10 worst things in Majora's Mask, THAT WOULD BE NUMBER 1!
