First off, Cecilia is better there's no question at all, the only good part of her singing was her last note. And secondly this isn't a funny song look up the translation...
@6EthelMerman9 Absolutely disagree: Simone is 1000 times better than Cecilia, no change for Bartoli to face her performance sorry. Brava Simone you are the best
@horaciobadano CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who got to learn a name of an opera singer, Bartoli. what does she have to do with Kermes for gods sake?? Especially when it comes to moving on stage, they have NOTHING in common. Bartoli looks like she is being tortured to sound right, Kermes moves as she likes and cant sound as proper. where is the imitation?
So sad that you have to put in this disclaimer. It seems to me that things have reached the point where the big companies are actually working against the dissemination of music.
Dai ragazzi!
I didn't think anyone could compare with Cecilia Bartholi's performance of this little masterpiece - but yes, Simone CAN! Brava bravissima! And what a final note - absolutely perfect.
Мне Симона Кермес сначала не нравилась, по сравнению с Чечилией Бартоли, ну что такое, низкие совсем не берёт. А потом когда я расслушал её сопрано, я просто улетел.
calm down....these arias are like old torch songs at this point..its silly to not interpret em anyway u want...hell it was written damn near 300 years ago! VIVA VIVALDI BRAVO SIMONE!
very nice singing here! I also like the Vivica Genaux interpretation of this aria (check it out as well)

Was she born in Rome? I often hear "Già s'aspetta a naufragà", not "a naufragar". :P

I can't explain how much I love this performance. She is literally embodying the music.

Not one person singing this on u-Tube looks absolutely fantastic doing it. Could it be that it is just that hard to perform?

She makes singing this notoriously difficult Agitata like a very fun thing to do! :) If only I have her voice! Bravo!

She has become my absolutely FAVORITE soprano. What a magnificent voice. Her youtube and LAVA recordings are a gift to the human ear and sensibility.

The German Cindy Lauper of opera. She has the most beautiful ever tonal quality to her voice. I loved her creativity on the repeat.

Go Simone. She always makes me smile. She is one who's never lost the "joy element" along the road to professional status.

I love how her movements show how much she is enjoying the music. Also, her hair is freaking sweet.
Go Simone Kermes!
